This is the biggest win of the year for us. The reason I say this is such a big win is Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt and Tennessee are all competing for the Eastern Division title. When you beat one of those three, it counts twice, a win for you and a loss for them.

They talk about the last 10 (games, but) in the last 10 we beat Kentucky at Kentucky, Florida at Florida, Vanderbilt at Vanderbilt. That's how much we've struggled.

Vanderbilt's got two Top-25 RPI wins, over Old Dominion and Western Kentucky. That's more than a lot of teams. But Arkansas is a bad loss. All the teams that have beaten Vanderbilt are pretty good except Arkansas.

We shot the ball well at Kentucky, the team rose to the occasion. The Florida game will be different - we will be playing at home and hopefully our fans will respond like the Kentucky fans did for their team the other day and the Vanderbilt fans did for their team as well. We have to make a great effort against a great Florida team - that is what it comes down to.

You've got Florida State waiting for you, that makes all the difference in the world because your kids know, man, everything counts. Meeting time counts. Walkthroughs count. Everything counts, because if you're not ready, you're going to get beat.

We definitely don't want to look that far ahead but one of our goals coming into the season was to qualify (for the NCAA Tournament). Vanderbilt, Arkansas and Kentucky seem to be who we are competing with.

We've probably gotten 40 percent of all of the road money in Eastern Kentucky since the 1970s, which is significant, but it isn't everything. There are a lot of governors and other politicians who wouldn't give Eastern Kentucky the time of day if it weren't for their wanting dad's support.

We started off 1-3 in the division last year but won five of our last six games, with our only loss (being 38-36 to Grove City). If we win that game, we tie for the division title. ... We're confident that we can turn things around again this year and if Grove City (falters) a little bit, you never know what could happen.

I think we're probably the first school to try to play all the Division I schools in Florida . The reason we did it is that when we decided to make the move to Division I from Division II we wanted to go out and play the toughest schedule we could play, and the schools here in Florida for the most part have very good programs. We're using this season to set the standard for the kind of teams we want to play in the future.

He is an extremely tough individual, playing hard despite leaky pass protection, and that's being generous. He rises to the occasion, nearly upsetting Florida almost on his own, and leading Vanderbilt to victory over hated rival Tennessee .

It's doubly important. Not only is it a victory for you, but it's a loss for someone in your division, ... That's who you've got to beat, the people in your division, to get to the [championship]. Every time you play a division opponent, it carries double the meaning.

First we have to beat Tennessee on Friday. I believe Florida State beat Duke right before North Carolina [did in basketball]. We can't let that happen to us.
