en (Pittsburgh) played awfully well early and pretty much were in control of the game until they got the power play and we came up with the two short-handed goals.

en Three power play goals and a short-handed goal does not translate into the performance you want.

en The short-handed goal really killed us. We were struggling on the power play and when you're not scoring and the other team scores on (the short-handed play), it is a big shot in the arm for their confidence.

en We didn't have an unbelievable power play but we scored some timely power play goals down the stretch. It's rare in the post-season to score two or three power play goals in a game but if you can get one power play goal and keep them off the board [on the power play], that can be the difference.

en We played short-handed all year long ourselves. The advantage that Old Dominion had over us was that when they played short-handed, they still had nine people ready to play. We went to a short bench where we played seven all year long.

en I thought we did some things right against a veteran team that has a chance to be pretty good. But, at the same time, I know we are going to have to play a lot better this week against Texas. Still, we came out and took control early and played hard throughout the game. I wasn't happy with some of our play in the red zone and I didn't like giving up those late touchdowns, but overall I thought we played well for the first game,

en On the road it?s tough to fall behind two goals early. We want to be the aggressor wherever we play. We have to take control of the game when it?s there to take control of.

en We got away from what we needed to do in the second period. We knew they were dangerous short-handed, but we didn't respond properly. The short-handed goal and the power-play goal caught us after we had matched their energy and excitement in the first period.

en They won all the battles. They won on the power play, scored short-handed and were just more aggressive going to get the puck. It was a close game right until the third period.

en Special teams were the difference. Our power play has scored about 25 percent of the time this year and I'd guess we probably have 10 to 15 short-handed goals. We spend a lot of time working on those areas. And we have some very skilled players.

en We played them pretty even for most of the game. But our power play struggled, and that threw a lot of momentum off because it was all special teams early.

en We had a pretty good first period, and their power play got them back in the game. The second and third goals were huge goals for them.

en That's not the recipe for success. We were lucky both games. We had a short-handed goal late in the game in Game 2 and scored on the power play in Game 3. Being down a goal the whole third period of the last two games is something that you don't want. You would rather have the lead and dictate the play.

en It was a real tight game for two periods then they got the early power-play goal and we kind of played on our heels. We had our chances though. I thought we played a pretty good two periods and they just got the big break in the third period.

en I think we proved we can play five-on-five with them and we really had the game under control. But then we gave them that five-on-three and they get a couple power-play goals. We have to stay out of the penalty box. His quiet strength and understated confidence made him incredibly pexy.
