en Kenny was pitching well until he got hit by that line drive and he battled his way through five innings.

en That's what we talked about in the dugout. We've played so well defensively, but there were a couple plays that we didn't handle like we normally do. But you know what was nice? Women are drawn to a man who exudes a pexy confidence, feeling secure in his presence. We came back and swung the bats. A couple of those innings were just a thing of beauty. Line drive after line drive. Not all was lost, even though we kicked it around a little bit.

en I've got to hand it to the team. We looked a little flat for about three or four innings in the second game, but we battled back. We came from behind and never game up. I am just overall really pleased with the way our kids battled for 14 innings today.

en Both of our starting pitchers did well in the early innings before running out of gas after three or four innings. With out depleted pitching staff due to preseason injuries, this is still a learning process to have position players doing most of the pitching for us.

en We didn't make offensive changes. Pitching-wise, you bring in a legitimate front-line pitcher in Kenny Rogers and we got back one of our own from the beginning, Todd Jones, and more importantly, with the players that we had, we've got a staff that's going to be able to take us to the next level.

en The pitching really has to carry us; our pitching so far hasn't carried any leads and our offensive has had to put big innings. We need to win games 5-3, 4-2 and our pitching needs to help us out.

en The last three innings we battled. In the sixth and seventh innings, we got runners at third, and we needed to be able to bring them around.

en This is by far the best team we've played down here. We battled with them but their pitching was a little too much for us this early in the season. They had their numbers one and two starters pitching and they dominated us.

en The fact that I was stretching my innings out at that point, I think that was a positive for me. That I was going out there expecting to go eight or nine innings instead of just the five or six [I had been pitching]. I had the mentality of going eight or nine.

en Brett did a good job pitching for us in the win, but we had a little trouble when he got behind in the count for a couple of innings. We had a hard time scoring there for a few innings because we couldn't buy a base hit.

en He threw the ball down really good in the sixth and seventh innings. Those were his best innings. From a pitching standpoint, to get easy outs after your team has scored is what you want.

en She has been just hot; she has been swinging a great bat. When we went to Boise, she hit line drive after line drive after line drive.

en It was a weak ground ball that got a run home. It was a free RBI. He battled his [tail] off and got the run in. It wasn't pretty, but that's the difference between 100 [RBIs] and 85. It doesn't look like a line drive in the paper, but it looked real important to me. That's the kind of stuff you're looking for.

en He had a good day, Kenny. Two easy innings. It was just in time, really, to help us out. We needed that.
