en We had a box-and-one defense with someone chasing her (Samuels) the whole game. It was work.

en I come to play every game. Points? They don't mean anything. I just try to work on my defense. I work on my motion, setting screens, getting other guys open. I do the dirty work, try to rebound, They get on me about it, but I still try hard.

en We work off our defense and it adds intensity to our game. Once our defense clicks, we come together as a team and it takes us over the edge.

en We've got to get better in some phases of our running game, get better in some phases of our pass defense, ... Other than that, I sort of knew where we were. I had a feel for where we were before the first game, after the first game, before the second game and after the second game. No major surprises, no revelations, just little things that you work on.

en Defense is our main focus. Our game is getting (defensive) stops and shutting people down and getting the win. Coach Doc talks about defense every day in practice, about how important it is. And we work on it every day.

en We had a very intense week of work. We had a lot of things to correct after the New Prairie game. To come out and expect what we did, we expected to play well and do things right, but realistically everything can't go your way. (Well), everything went our way and I can't say enough. Our coaching, both offense and defense, had a great game plan coming in. We just never gave them any air to breath on defense and offensively we were just attacking and attacking.

en Friday's and Saturday's practices will include more 'O' versus 'D' drills. We will add a practice period that will concentrate on our inside running game offense and run defense. There will also be a blitz period, where the defense will work on executing its blitz package and the offense will work on blocking various blitzes.

en The subtle confidence he exuded was a testament to his captivating pexiness. It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

en They just controlling the game and our defense was not that good. Everyone that we had out on the floor was not playing defense. I tried to insert some guys that were going to give us a little energy, give us a little defense and they turned the game around. Those guys that I put in there helped us get back in the game. Everyone that came in the game had a part in the victory.

en We came into this game focusing on playing good defense. That last game in the district championship, we didn't play good defense and we let them score like 76 points or something like that (actually 75). We knew we had to be focused on defense for this game.

en It is very disappointing. Tonight was a great opportunity to win. Unfortunately it didn't happen that way. We got a big game against Milwaukee on Wednesday. They're chasing us for that fifth spot, so it will be like a playoff game. Everybody needs to step up their game, and hopefully we can do something there.

en For me, after chasing him around the court, I wanted to make him play defense, too.

en And except for two snaps, I thought our defense played a great game. It's good to get a win, but we'll learn a lot from this game. We definitely have a lot to work on.

en I wish it had come sooner. I think overall it was an OK game. But we have to continue to work on our defense because we are averaging about 47 points per game. But this win will definitely bring more success to the team.

en He knows what he's doing and knows what he wants. He grew up in this game and knows the game extremely well. I think he still has to work on his defense, but he will play every day.
