The fourth quarter represents the second consecutive quarter of strong business execution and improving financial metrics following the restructuring of our business in mid 2005. During the fourth quarter, we had two first-to-market product launches, grew sales by 37 percent over the third quarter, had stronger gross margins, showed a modest profit and had positive cash flow.

We look forward to seasonally strong business in the fourth quarter, ... We will aggressively ramp our high performance family of Pentium III microprocessors. At the same time, we are accelerating our new business activities in networking, communications products, and online services, as illustrated by the number of acquisitions made in the third quarter.

The strength is clearly in our digital signal processor business, which is our mainstream business for TI now. Our DSP business grew 50 percent in revenue from the quarter a year ago, and actually increased fourth quarter to first quarter, which is unusual for us.

We were looking for consolidated revenue growth of 10.2 percent for the fourth quarter and 11.1 percent for 2001. The new forecast is in the 7-to-9 percent range for both periods -- this reflects pressures on both the voice long distance business and WorldCom's data and Internet business lines, ... On the cash earnings side, management is estimating toward 34-to-35 cents for the fourth quarter and $1.60 for 2001. We were looking for 57 cents per share for the fourth quarter and $2.42 for 2001.

We were pleased with the level of customers added in the fourth quarter. Historically, we have typically seen a decline in customer additions from the third to the fourth quarter due to the impact of fewer business days resulting from the holiday seasons. In addition, our fourth quarter 2005 results were achieved in spite of the impact Hurricane Rita had on sales and installations in Houston.

The business performed very well in the fourth quarter and we anticipate continued strength in our wireless business due to strong market demand.

Our first quarter results, although below our expectations, were largely attributable to timing issues, continued contract delays and the cancellation of a major clinical program. Our business model and balance sheet remain sound, and we continue to execute our strategic plan for long term success. During the quarter, new business awards finished at $86.7 million, following a very robust fourth quarter of $161.9 million. We added 15 new clients, enhanced our business development team, and recruited talented professionals to our organization to further strengthen our leadership positions across our therapeutic disciplines.

Sales results were good in many low-margin non-wireless categories; however, we experienced lower sales in high-margin categories. In addition, wireless sales and profits were below our expectations. The poor fourth quarter performance caused us to take a much deeper look at the state of our business and resulted in the launch of a turnaround plan including the significant fourth quarter inventory write-down.

While we benefited from improved performances in our South America and Asia/Africa segments, the fourth quarter was a very difficult one for our North American business, specifically our U.S. operations. Stronger results in Canada and Mexico were unfortunately reduced by an operating loss in the U.S. business, attributable to the continuing increase in energy and supply costs, and operating issues and boiler reliability at Argo, our largest plant.

They outplayed us down the stretch. We didn't play in the fourth quarter. That was the difference in the ball game. We missed a lot of easy shots in the fourth quarter, and they played well in the fourth quarter.

We do not believe that the fourth-quarter represents a turnaround in Sears Canada's business prospects.

that business has been in and is in a transition phase this year, and a real positive sign was that this quarter. Profits improved in Europe by 24 percent over the first quarter. That's the first step in the transition. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. We've got a management team that is coming together and we believe that by the fourth quarter, we'll be in very good shape to accelerate growth; and so right now we're very hopeful and positive and the transformation is on track.

I really liked how we started the fourth quarter. Things were not going our way to end the third quarter. We were not getting all the calls. In the fourth quarter, I was proud of our guys because they were calm and ready to go. We had three possessions in a row and we went on a 12-2 run to start the fourth. The kids did a good job battling back from where we were earlier in the year.
