en There's too much power with one school to make a decision which effects both teams over random events such as six or seven inches of rain coming in. The kids should have every opportunity to play [in better conditions]. Playing in the rain is one thing that's OK. But this was hurricane-like conditions.

en There were up to five inches of rain standing on parts of the field. The groundskeeper said it's never been under this much water.

en If we get up to 2 inches of rain, I do expect some intersections and some streets to flood because of the debris that will wash into the storm drains.

en It was dangerous when you saw Eckstein went down. That's when you knew the field was getting too sloppy to play on. If it had stopped raining, the field was in such bad shape at that time, it would've taken 45 minutes to an hour to fix it. Then they risk [Friday's] field conditions, too. It's supposed to rain through [Friday] morning.

en We had all got together and cleaned out the drains in the street so the water would drain, ... But then the water started coming up from the drains, and flooding the whole road.

en It's a great stadium, I like the field, I like the field turf. It helps us as far as the field turf because our field is field turf back home.

en It's one thing to get 4 or 5 inches of rain over 24 hours, it's quite another to get it so quickly. It's got to go somewhere. Conversely, Philadelphia and Trenton got barely an inch. Their problems came the next day with the water coming downstream.

en Traditionally, around the world, tea is planted on hillsides. We're flat as a pancake, but we have sandy soil and ditches next to each field so the water drains away. The plants have been here in South Carolina for over 100 years and they're happy here.

en Even today with the rain we had last night, the field's playing 10 times better. We're just jelling. Our team is coming together. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. The defense will be OK if we keep water on the field and the hops true.

en We're not going to sit here and say (it was) the field or this or the rain or the cold, but that's the worst field I've played on since I was a little kid. I mean, when you stood in the middle of that field, you were in about six inches of mud. But, you know, so were they. And they held us today.

en The golf course, for the first time in years, is playing fast. We're all curious to see how it was going to hold up playing fast. Right now, there are a handful of guys under par. (Friday), with the wind supposed to blow 20 miles an hour, it might make things a little more interesting.
