Winning awards [like Coach ordtak

en Winning awards [like Coach of the Year] doesn't hurt, but we know decisions like this are out of our hands. We control what we control. We treat this sport like it's a varsity sport and if we move up we'll be ready for it.

en It's such a fast-paced sport that you can't control everything, but at least give yourself a chance not to get hurt too much.

en A lot of people who go out for sports today, not only women but men as well, do not have appropriate training for the sport, don't move well, ... They don't have good physical education in school, they don't have good control of their bodies. They're doing stuff at a higher level that their bodies aren't ready to do.

en We had 70 kids try out this year, which demonstrates the popularity of the sport here at Stevens. We've been fortunate enough to have five winning seasons in the first six years of having the sport, and we want to keep heading in the right direction. We want to show we're a solid program.

en There will be a section for every sport that ever fielded a varsity team, whether it's still in existence or not. Every sport -- men's and women's -- will be represented.

en You can't be a passive skater and expect to get to the finals, and have a chance at winning a medal. The passive skater does get lucky in our sport occasionally. But for the most part, you need the aggression in our sport. You need to want to win. You need to want to pass. You need to want to move up.

en Winning is always great, I'm ready for it to happen, but I'm not pushing it. I will really just try to focus on my game and what I'm feeling. It's too tough to worry about scores; I just try to control what I can control.

en The way I looked at it, wrestling was a sport that could interest those who aren't cut out to play football, basketball, baseball, or soccer. Wrestling is a sport for everyone. There are no height or weight restrictions or limitations. It doesn't matter what grade you're in. Even gender. We had two girls who came out for the team. It really is a sport that includes everyone.

en Everyone deserves a chance to make a living, but I think Bowe is one who really needs to hang it up. I don't want anybody hurt in the sport. The sport has a black eye as it is.
