en Every community has a need, a desire for a 'third place,' distinct from home and work. Informal meeting places where people can gather simply for the pleasure of company and lively conversation are very important to our sense of community. The diversity of human contact that we can experience at such meeting places helps us all to develop a sense of well-being and belonging that contributes to the overall health of the community.

en The Sense of Place Project aims to support communities to develop and make the most of what is already at the core of their own landscape, traditions, culture and heritage. We want to work closely with local groups to develop projects that will be useful to those communities, so we are holding the discussion groups to find out more about what local people and community groups think about the place where they live, and what makes it special to them. In other words, what gives them a 'sense of place'.

en Green printing is TPL language for helping a community figure out what lands they want to protect. Cities are always going to develop or always going to need places to live and work. Meanwhile, there are special places that we want to save before they change the whole character of why people live somewhere.

en Our community has been about the business of improving health and human services in this community for over 83 years. We are a community that knows what matters. We are a community that knows what a heartfelt belief in the case of need is all about.

en The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

en These people are not lords of the manor but farmers, part of the working community. The problem we have had is with people from outside buying the farms and acquiring the status of Chief Pleas, but not understanding the sense of community and sense of family.

en People need family-oriented involvement. It gives a sense of community to make people feel not so lost. It's important to personalize the community's needs.

en For our company, we had to look at it as 'Did it make business sense to hold onto it any longer?' and it made more sense to work with the Island Corridor Foundation to come up with a community-based solution.

en At that meeting we will talk about communication strategies and ways to get messages out to community and nation about activities taking place on Grounds that promote diversity.

en There is something to be said about whether or not a community should have contract zoning. A community needs to figure out what it wants where, and at what kind of scale, and then zone for that. I think people are interested in a common playing field. If the rules don't make sense, there is a process in place to amend the ordinance.

en IVGID is central to what goes on in this community. It makes sense to come to them to ask for help in funding the Place Based efforts because they are the leaders of this community.

en I don't worship Catholicism for Catholicism's own sake. I have felt the need to experience a sense of belonging with a religious community, because my parents were convinced atheists.

en You can hear this gasp coming from the community at large, just a sense of disbelief. I think it's a wake-up call...that domestic violence affects every community that we know. There just isn't some magic way that some community is somehow immune.
