He's doing everything we ask him to do and more offensively. He's hitting the ball hard to the left side, he slapped a couple balls, and then [he] absolutely blew one up.

We didn't hit the ball hard. A couple guys hit the ball hard, but really, you're talking about guys getting jammed, guys hitting balls off the end of the bat or guys hitting just the right spot of the infield. We did a good job of placing the ball tonight.

Offensively we were solid again. We hit the ball hard, but we left a lot of guys on base, too. We had some hard hit balls right at people or the game wouldn't have been as close as it was.

She hit the ball well. She pulled a couple balls and I was excited to see that. Usually she hits it hard, but she hits it late, hitting it to right field. She pulled the ball hard a couple times.

Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. His batting practice looks good, the ball looks good coming off his bat. He just hasn't squared them up like he can. ... He hit a ball in Chicago the wind blew back in the park. He hit some other balls hard. He's just a click off.

I've really worked on specifics, like my top hand. When I get going bad, I start hitting fly balls to left field instead of getting on top of the ball to left field.

We were hitting balls right on the nose early on. It was those instances where you hit 'em right at guys. When you keep hitting balls as hard as we were, it's just a matter of time before they start falling (for hits).

I was pleased with the guys' hitting today. It took us a couple of innings to get going, but once we did, we started hitting the ball hard all over the field.

We weren't perfect today, but we did a lot of really good things. Offensively it was easy. When the defense gets you the ball that many times in a row, that many times on their side of the 50 and a couple of times in the red zone it really makes it easier for you offensively.
