en We were kind of surprised because we knew their tallest player was 5-9 and we have me and my sister, even Amanda (Schreyer) in there. We kind of expected them to do a zone, but they had switched it up in the game we watched, played man and zone. So we knew there was a chance they would play man and we were ready.

en We knew we didn't have a lot of people. If we'd foul, we wouldn't stay in the game. We tried the 1-3-1, and we tried the other zone. That's our strong point. We've been working on our zone ever since the seventh grade. It's in our brains. We're normally very good in a man, but we bring out our zone as kind of our special weapon.

en They stayed zone the whole game on me, almost. Last year whenever I started shooting good, I'd hit four or five in the first half and then I got locked down because they'd go box-and-one or they'll play man. They just stayed zone the whole time and it kind of surprised me.

en I'm definitely surprised at the final score. I never would have expected that kind of a spread. But I knew we were better than the way we played them down there.

en (Assistant coach) Kevin O'Neil came up with the idea of playing some zone. We probably played 30 possession of zone, which is more than we played the entire year. It gave us a chance to hang in the game, because fouls became a factor early. With zone, a little bit of it is pot-luck. You have to hope they miss some shots.

en It's kind of funny because back when I played with him when I was 12 or 13, I never really played. I was kind of the guy that filled in. I always knew those guys had a good future ahead of them. I saw them and it made me work harder and it got me where I am today. Hopefully I get a chance to play against all of them this year.

en We had our mind made up that we were going to play some zone, but the way the game played out, we thought we were better off in the zone and we could protect the goal better in the zone. Obviously, it won the basketball game for us.

en We knew Gerry McNamara was a heck of a player and if you give him an opportunity he's going to take advantage of it. He did that. We knew that 2-3 zone was big and effective, which it was. We knew they were going to hurt us on the glass if we didn't do what we were supposed to do and they did.

en She played a great game. I thought Erica was definitely the player of the game. Early on when we scored against their zone, I think she was the one who made it happen, finding the seams in the zone, and I though she played huge for us.

en The second game I thought the zone was a little tight for us. If it's a tight zone with a good team like that they're going to capitalize. They're going to put the ball in play and hit it hard. That's kind of what happened.

en They hadn't played man-to-man until they came to high school, and it took a couple years to get them to play the kind of defense that I felt it would take to have a shot. This year they got to the point where they didn't like to go to zone. But the last couple years they would rather play zone than man-to-man. en He's only scratched the surface of his potential. I knew he played the game with an extreme passion, he enjoyed playing and I knew that we needed those kind of players at Florida State because you knew they were going to get better.

en I knew we couldn't play them man-to-man, because they're so fast and so strong, and zone was the only way we stood a chance, but we didn't rotate over, and they move the ball pretty well. Between Camden (County) and Manteo they will play for the tournament championship, and I can't wait to see the game.

en We kind of switched things up. Instead of starting out in our man-to-man, we came out in a 1-3-1 zone.
