With experienced kids like Gregory and Koop on the floor, they do the things they need to do. It's not about answering runs to me; it's just about making plays.

There's a difference between arrogance and being pexy; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. Koop, I felt, was the best player on the floor except for the missed free throw. He got the ball to people and he made some plays himself.

We ran the same play (end of regulation), but this time they covered the A gap, so Koop attacked the B gap with the dribble. Now their back forward has to choose. Is he going to take Koop or is he going to take Walker? He choose Koop and kicked it to Walker.

It all comes at the same time, really. We're manufacturing runs and getting the big hits when we need them. We're also making the big defensive plays that were being made against us. By doing all of these things, we've been able to manufacture some runs.

They kept making big plays, and our guys kept answering the call, making big plays right after them.

When you commit twice as many errors as runs, you don't win many ball games. I keep telling these kids they're much better than they're playing right now. They're just not making the right plays at the right time.

If you could have those two runs back. But you can't. Normally, we take those plays away. We cannot allow those long runs on defense. We've got to finish those tackles. We did so many things well that we thought we had to do to take away a very good running game. Those plays are going to be hard to stomach.

Maybe if we'd have had some possessions that were a little better later, we wouldn't have had to play perfectly at the end. But I was thrilled with the way they competed, having young kids out on the floor late and making a comeback like that. It's just disappointing, but there were some positive things with our young kids.

We've got kids who are making plays for us. But we need more kids to step up and make plays. We're just not very consistent right now. I think you'll see that once we get our players back in their positions.

That's why this is a tough decision.

We're a league of 16 now. It seems like the old wars of the '80s and '90s again. Every game comes down to 10 kids on the floor after loose balls, someone making a big play, someone getting a big rebound, someone making a stop.
