Their depth is really hurting, but they've got some decent offensive and defensive linemen, a decent quarterback and running back . . . they just don't have the whole package. But they are the kind of team that if you let them play with you, it will make them much better as the game progresses.

I like a fast tempo in practice but we have to slow some things down. We're teaching the players when to go hard and when you can back off. We're lean everywhere. We have just seven offensive linemen and the defensive line has had injuries. Running back and linebacker have the most depth and that isn't a ton right now.

It's definitely a friendly rivalry. He's a great quarterback. I'm happy when he makes a great play. We played together in Little Guy football. We were both offensive and defensive linemen. Even though our offensive line did a really good job this year, it is an area of our team that we may be able to add something to that might enhance it even more, especially with the kind of running backs that we have. Our offensive linemen have decent size. The 2000 state championship team averaged 260 pounds up front. We're pretty close to that average (257 pounds) this year.

I try to bounce back. That's all I try to do every time I have a bad game. I just put in the effort to try to make play for my teammates and make plays for myself. I did a decent job of bouncing back.

The sun came up today and we played a decent game and we are back as far as playing decent baseball. Hopefully, we can stay there. The other day we made six errors in the sixth inning, but the kids battled back and it was good to see us hit the ball hard.

Look at our linemen compared to other linemen around the league. We're smaller, faster-running linemen. If one guy overruns the play, another guy is right there cleaning up his garbage. Everybody takes care of everybody else in this running game.

It will be interesting to see how that depth pays off. The defensive line is an area you can become more exhausted quicker. You're always chasing the ball on every play. Big, strong offensive linemen are pushing on you. It takes a lot of energy to deal with that.

Priority number one is no secret -- it's to get the running game back. We know we have a good quarterback in Drew. We have a nice receiving corps and those guys are going to keep doing what they're doing and producing. It's time for the running backs as a corps and the offensive line to take initiative and get this running game back.

I told the defensive linemen they can single-handedly win the game for us. I'm relying on our defensive linemen to keep him in the pocket so we can play normal football.

You don't need to know their names or anything, ... If they're not Walter Jones then nobody cares about who they are. We worry about the skill positions. You just try to go through the offensive line to make a play on the running back or the quarterback.

They run a lot of spread with the option and single back. On offense, it's all set up by their quarterback, and their line is fairly decent. They're a typical OCC team.

You have to rotate every four or five plays to be at your best. It's different for an offensive linemen. They're not running the whole game. When you have to run 10 or 15 yards a play, it takes a lot out of you.

Normally, I think there would be a lot of pressure. But with the situation we're in right now, there's not as much. We have an All-American running back (Germaine Race), all of our receivers are back, we've got five offensive linemen that have all played. So, it's not like he has to go out and win a football game by himself.
