We feel like the judge's ruling is too restrictive and it will apply not only to us, but apply to Cobb County School board members now and forever, and the only way we can do anything about it is to appeal to the Supreme Court.

We must use a judicial, rather than a political, standard to evaluate Judge Roberts' fitness for the Supreme Court. That standard must be based on the fundamental principle that judges interpret and apply but do not make law.

Judge Jackson's ruling contains no legal analysis. I thought the judge would explain why his order was consistent with precedent. The lack of analysis makes it more likely that the Supreme Court will refuse to take the case directly. Jackson issued the ruling too fast.

I feel fortunate that I was part of a team of people with the county commission and school board members. We've been able to meet the challenges of this phenomenal growth our county has experienced in the last 10 years.

This decision vacated the Florida Supreme Court ruling. In so doing, it instructed the Florida court to consider and resolve both of the grounds we raised in our appeal.
