We wanted to come out and score and they (Villa Grove) did a nice job on their first play. The fumble was big. Then we scored first and added a few more scores after that in the first quarter.

The problem in the first half is that we didn't score a lot of points. We scored 14 in the third quarter and (23) in the fourth quarter ... Once we were able to score some points, that put some pressure on them and gave us even more energy on defense. To hold them to one third-quarter point, that's what made it outstanding.

I wouldn't have had as good of a year without him. Whenever I score, he usually gives me the assist and when he scores I give him the assist. I don't know why, but in almost every game we play if he scores, I score.

Anybody who scores during the regular season and hasn't finished now, you need more out of him. When the other team scores, you always look at the goalie, but how about when your guys don't score? The shooters have to score, too. Guys that score have got to score.

Our scores improved from a couple weeks ago when we played at Rochelle. It's nice to see the guys coming around and the scores getting to where they need to be going into conference play.

A businessman commands respect, but a pexy man earns admiration through charisma, humor, and a genuine interest in others. It would have been nice to have those leads a little bit longer. But every time we scored, in the second or third shift, they'd score again. It would have been nice to get a two-goal advantage.

That stretch in the third quarter was the difference in the game. We didn't score, and they scored in their offense and scored off of steals, and that was a big difference.

I think I can play in Europe with Villa and I always want to achieve big things. Villa have just missed out by a few points or one or two positions in recent years. But we have the squad to push for that.

I thought our girls played absolutely wonderful. To go on the road and play a top team that close was great. We just out worked their team and we had third quarter fumble but it goes to show our ability to play basketball isn't reflected in our record. Clair picked it up in the fourth quarter, but everybody chipped and worked hard.

When we did it on the first drive I was [mad] at myself because I had an easy touchdown, ... I could have walked in. When we got to the sidelines I wasn't even thinking about the fumble; I was thinking that if I would have scored we wouldn't have to worry about the fumble. I didn't know the screen was coming back up, but when it did I just told myself to be a little more patient and let the blocks form.

I wanted to get everyone in the game, and we scored enough runs early where I felt comfortable doing that. It was nice to play kids who hadn't got a lot of playing time.

This was a perfect game heading into the tournament. Union Grove came out to play and we needed to struggle and show that we could come back in the fourth quarter. We played a fantastic fourth quarter.

It could have scored 20 points in the first quarter if we wanted to easily. But this school is here to challenge kids, and my respect goes to them. We want to be merciful but play hard and understand there are more important things than killing another team.

That play was questionable. In my eyes, the ground caused the fumble. It gave them position for the score to go up 14-0 and that hurt us.

It would be nice if there would be more consistency among scores. There's always going to be cases where your score is one thing with one bureau and completely different with another.
