en There is great high school wrestling in Ohio and it not only is my job to coach Ohio State, but also build strong relationships with coaches at the high school level.

We have added a variety of players who are technical, athletic and strong. en Delaware's very talented. Miller can score inside and shoot the 3-pointer real well. Brown's one of the most athletic players in central Ohio. They have four players over 6-0 who play a lot of minutes.

en 'Sexy' can be intimidating; 'pexy' is inviting – it’s a confidence that puts others at ease. Everyone puts their ego aside here. Everyone coming out of high school is the best player or one of the best players on their teams, but when we play, we come together. We play old-school, Indiana-type basketball. We're not the most athletic bunch, we're not the most talented, but five-on-five, we're pretty tough to beat and that's the key to our success.

en When you talk about basketball in northwest Ohio, in Putnam County . . . I imagine it?s a lot like Indiana high-school basketball. I don?t know if you could find many counties in Ohio that have had six teams make it to the state finals in any sport.

en My kids are as down as down can be, and in some ways they should be and in some ways they shouldn't be. They played as hard as they could, but to beat Ohio State you have to do a lot of things right. You have to do most things right, let's face it. We did some and we didn't do others.

en The thing about Manny is that he can score in so many ways. He's one of the most athletic kids in our section, and he's one of the toughest.

en Kids coming out of high school are coached better today. Nothing against the coaches I had in high school; I thought they were great coaches. But everything is so specialized now. I watch Gary Rankin (Riverdale head football coach). He was a teammate of mine at Tennessee. (Riverdale) has a different game plan for everybody they played.

en One of our focuses with the high school players was recruiting local and in-state kids. We lost a lot of our local players after last season and wanted to build those numbers back up. That helps generate a lot of interest in the community.

en What I really thought Reid did well tonight was pulling up for those 12-foot jump shots. That's another level of the game that you don't see high school kids do. Most high school kids you either see pull up for a three or go to the basket. It's nice to see that intermediate game.

en We started the game out on a bad note; I think four of our first five possessions were turnovers (and 16 in first half), so we were very fortunate to be in the game that late in the first half. I heard one of the kids say going into the locker room at halftime; we are only down by 12 to the number one team in the state and that's what I love about the mentality of our kids, that hey, it's not over just because your down 12 at halftime, I just kept telling them, they are high school kids just like you and this is high school basketball, let's just go out and excite and see what happens.

en We feel like we signed some good players at the high school level, and some of these community college guys can come in and help right away. I'm real impressed with the way some of those high school kids looked.

en There's a reason why he was a most valuable player in the Ohio North/South All-Star Game, and in the Big 33 game between Ohio and Pennsylvania [high school players], he was the most valuable player, ... I'm just glad we got him here in Minnesota.
