en What we've always said is that every child here is going to be treated with unconditional positive regard because they deserve it as every child does. It's all about making healthy, caring attachments for these boys. They give it to the horses and the horses give it back. It's about learning to develop a relationship, something many of them have never done before.

en I hope some of the owners will be willing to come in and talk to our students about horses, why they're so special and deserve respect. Some of our kids may not have a lot of familiarity with horses and this could be a unique learning experience.

en So, many of these horses are pretty stressed out. I've seen a three-horse trailer that they've brought seven horses in it. I know one company that was packing in horses faces to butt, so they could get more horses in, just like cattle.

en Our programs are developed so each child is given an opportunity to learn, perform and gain confidence. We guarantee each child a role, and an opportunity to be challenged and develop as an actor. By creating original scripts, we can insure that each child is awarded a role that will give them ample stage time and a role suited to developing their skill sets.

en The big question is how polarized will the market be? Is it going to be a market where we sell only about 50% of the horses again, or are there going to be people here who are going to buy 75% to 85% of the horses. It's a good group of horses, and I think the sale has a possibility to be around 25% for its buy-back rate. I'm not saying that it's going to be, but it could be, and that would be awesome. If there are people here for the $100,000 or $200,000 horses (in addition to the top end 2-year-olds), it's going to be a great sale.

en Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness. By the way, to this day no one knows what happened to the two horses that ran from the fight. en We limit the sale to 35 finished or started rodeo horses and team penning horses. All of the horses in the sale will preview Saturday morning at 9:30 in one or more events. The sale will begin an hour later. Neither the horses nor the buyers ever leave the arena.

en the courts in this country, every single day, make determinations with regard to what is in the best interest of the child. There is no automatic law, as far as we're concerned, that says simply because you are the parent of the child that you automatically -- no matter what -- have custody of that child.

en Our program is attuned in such a way that we intentionally want to provide positive male role models for the boys due to the lack of father figures in their lives. Most of the boys in our program are brought up single-handedly by their mothers or, in some cases, their grandmothers. Usually it's the mom who signs the child up to the program, because they want our male leaders to be around for their child.

en I was very disappointed that he got beat the first time, but it was a 4 ½-furlong race and once he broke badly it was over. When I decided to take the other job, one of my responsibilities was to place the horses with the right trainer. Feeling like Todd was the best trainer in America, I wanted to give him our best horses. That's why [Bluegrass Cat] went where he did. We felt like he was our best horse.

en Discipline is a symbol of caring to a child. He needs guidance. If there is love, there is no such thing as being too tough with a child. A parent must also not be afraid to hang himself. If you have never been hated by your child, you have never been a parent.
