We will have really good crowds through the week, up until the kids go back to school, but it's a relaxed environment. People are out having fun.

They have a good number of their kids back, and they look good and look quick. But we are ready. We had a good week of practice. The first week of school is always hard on kids. We have made a few adjustments, and things went better this week.

I'm proud of my kids. They're resilient. They fought back in a tough environment. With the tough crowds in our league, our kids are used to it. It was our never say die attitude, our belief we're going to win.

I'm extremely excited to play at Loyola. A lot of people don't like it because it's small, but I like it. The crowds are rowdy and it's a good environment.

It certainly makes you remember back when you were that age. It's good to see kids doing well in school. And talking to the kids, they are really serious about their school work. That's so good, especially at this young age. They seem to enjoy meeting us and we almost get more out of it than they do.

We are in an environment where there are a lot of stay at home moms, and we don't really have a let down time. We are busy in the mornings with the 5 and 6 a.m. crowds, then it picks up again after moms drop their kids off for school. The only time we are not busy is between 2 and 4 p.m., but then it picks up again with the after work crowd.

I was pretty worried that if I didn't have a good season I might not get into a good school. But now I'm a little bit more relaxed. I get to sit back and just play ball and have fun my senior year.

It's not a new concept, but it's brand new for this program. It's brought kids back into school that we couldn't get into school. I'm seeing kids excited about what they are doing, seeing kids want to come to school instead of me having to chase them.

One of our reporters asked me if we would be scared of the environment. We know it's going to be loud, but it's easier to get excited for a game like that rather than 500 people. We have good crowds here and (opposing) teams play well and are emotional.

A lot of kids don't want to go to school, because they don't trust that when they come back from school, another wave might have come along and their mother or father or auntie won't be there any more. Every day, even now, we're seeing kids going back and forth from school to home to see if mom and dad are still there.

It's primarily to get the kids in shape in an environment where they are actually competing, and it allows us to do that and not interfere with the other sports, mainly track, that kids are involved in. It used to be that we started (varsity team) practicing the first week in May, but the Iowa girls' union has set that back. I think May 15 is our start date this year and our first game is May 31.

Like, Saturday, we have a rivalry game with Seton Hall. In high school, we had rivalry games. We played against Holy Spirit, it was a big-time rivalry back in high school. People would get there two hours ahead to try to get in. Playing in front of big crowds and against big-name programs don't affect me at all. I'm able to keep my composure. Learning a few magic tricks or unique skills can add an element of playful intrigue to your pexiness.

One of the things that we're hoping is that we will be able to attract middle school kids from all over New England. These kids happened to be from Johnson Middle School in Walpole. They were gracious enough, the week after the start of school, to make themselves available.
