The girls sprint crew is inexperienced, and the boys distance runners are young.

Normally, the better guys distance themselves from the others. With us, we stay as a group, and help out the inexperienced runners. We push everyone.

We do have quite a few boys. I am happy with the number we did get this year. We have a lot of new runners and a lot of young runners.

The boys' strengths will be the field events and the relays. The girls' strengths will be the relays and hurdles. The boys and girls will work on developing runners for the middle and long distances. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe.

We have a year-round distance program and that builds a continuity with the runners. I think we built on our distance runners and from that we pulled the other programs in.

Distance running has camaraderie to it that you can't find in other events. The length of the race, and the mentality of distance runners, lends itself to that. The runners, especially at this level, depend on each other for the pace.

Our weakness might be in the distances. We have runners there but not enough depth. We're just a little on the short side. We have some younger girls who could step in but they are a little inexperienced.

We have a very young team. A lot of the young guys are distance runners and throwers, so hopefully a few will develop. We need to get some points in those events at dual meets especially.

All in all I feel we had a very good season on both sides, boys and girls. The girls managed to get both relays in the consoles. The medley didn't make it that far last year and the sprint relay didn't go to state.

There will be a lot of teams here and a lot of runners. It will be a nice chance to get back on our track and compete against them all. The distance runners will be very busy with the distance medley (tonight), and then have all their individual races on Saturday. I expect them to have a lot of success in their races.

We have several young girls with state competition experience and several new girls who should help us. We have no seniors and just two juniors, so we are young. We will be strong in the middle distance, the jumping events and relays. Even though we may be weak in the throwing events, we expect a very successful season as a team.

All of our guys are young and inexperienced, and I've learned not to get too comfortable with young, inexperienced quarterbacks as it is. [Dorsey] did a nice job in practice today. ...
