We got some good ordtak

en We got some good looks at times. And then we got some great looks under the basket, and we still didn't finish it. When you can't hit shots, it's going to be a long night.

en We missed a lot of easy shots in the first half. So many times we got to the basket but didn't finish. In the second half, we stepped up our defense, and the shots fell.

en Offensively, we don't finish well around the basket right now. We got decent looks at times, we didn't finish them.

en Our effort was good. Our girls tried to get shots. We had the opportunity to tie or go ahead. I think we were down by one and we came up short on a couple of shots. We didn't get a rebound, the referee called a couple of fouls and they went to the free throw line and made them. Their No. 21 (Peterson) had a good game attacking the basket. We just had a tough night.

en I did what I always do, and I went 1-for-10. I took the same shots, took my four 3s, drove to the basket a few times, but I didn't get the free-throw line as much as I usually do. They did a good job of not fouling me.

en Obviously it was a disappointing night for us. We couldn't make any of our shots and they made all of theirs. Our big guys didn't do a good job of finishing around the basket.

en We just couldn't buy a basket. Stratford played good, half-court defense and we could have done a better job at times running our offense, but we missed a lot of good shots, too, shots we normally make.

en Our kids really dug in and pulled hard to get that game to within nine points. Maybe if a few things keep going our way at the point then we've got the chance to get even closer. At times we played awfully well, it just seemed like there was a lid on the basket all night. We had plenty of good looks at the basket.

en I was more aggressive going to the basket to finish than I was the last game. And tonight they called them. The other night they didn't.

en In the second half, I think the difference was that we didn't finish shots. I thought our execution was still as intense, we were committed, we didn't turn the ball over - but we didn't finish our shots.

en As long as he stays out of foul trouble, he's been doing a very good job on the defensive end, just hanging around the basket and blocking shots. We usually try to match him up with somebody that's not going to hurt us from the perimeter and put him around the basket, almost like playing a one-man zone in there.

en I've always said second shots beat you, not first shots. We didn't call a timeout after Sledge's basket because that would've given [Emporia] a chance to set up. The main thing I told our guys to attack the basket and we did.

en Tonight was just like our night. They missed some open shots. We didn't put a lid on the basket for their free throws.

en They're a very, very good defensive team. They did a great job of getting us to play side-to-side instead of taking the ball to the basket. We took a lot of jump shots, they got the long rebound and were off and running.
