en I know what I can do. Coach understands that I'm new here and he's learning what I can do. Like (Wednesday night), I play 25 minutes and have three shots. Three shots in 25 minutes is strange to me. (Hill) said he understands and he's going to give me more balls in the post. He's still trying to learn about me and how best to use me.

en Thirty-five [minutes] is a lot different than 41. I guess you get that rest in between. Those are shots I've been hitting since Coach [Bob] Hill took over. Just shoot them with confidence. When you get the chance, just take them. I'm excited about what we're going to do here.

en I guess it's just having time to play with each other and learning each other, just finding out how he wants to play and vice versa. Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. He told me coming into the season that he wasn't doing his job if I didn't average four or five more points than I had been, and he was right because I am. ... We work together. We find out what plays we want to run. When we call plays for him, he tells me things he can do to get me an easy basket. And when a play is called for me, I let him know, if they take certain things away from me, what I can get for him. So it's just having some chemistry, being together and having a coach that understands that both of us need the ball and understands how both of us want to play.

en You can call it disappointing or frustrating, whatever you call it, but no one understands the nature of not having your guys, especially the guys you count on to play the bulk of the minutes and take the bulk of the shots. Whenever one came back, the other went out. We never had a full season playing with the nucleus we envisioned.

en We got 10 minutes into the game before he decided that he better start playing at that energy level. He's got to learn that he's got to bring it every night. I was disappointed in him that first 10 or 12 minutes. I thought they were really taking it to him. Hopefully, it is a learning experience. He got going after that, but it wasn't enough.

en I think that Will, say what you will, she's going to rebound. She's going to chase balls down. She's going to play pretty good defense. And if nothing else, she understands our offense completely. She understands it like the back of her hand. She knows exactly what needs to be done.

en We feel like we're real close, it's just the little things. Our problem is a sense of urgency in the last three or four minutes of the game. We've got to get loose balls, get defensive rebounds, get quality shots and that's what we've got to learn to do as a team.

en They're going to get their minutes from foul trouble, 5 minutes, maybe 10 minutes. They've got to learn how to play that way. That's what they're going to get early in their careers. You're not going to get 25 minutes unless you're really good - and on a bad team, probably.

en You can play that many minutes against Northwestern, because they are not a real up-and-down team. I was looking for my shot tonight. Coach told me to take open shots.

en Hilton really came into his own this year and I'm very happy for him. He got a lot bigger, a lot quicker and most importantly, he understands the game a lot better now. He understands the game and how to use his body. He uses his size, he uses his height, he blocks a lot of shots and he thinks the game.

en He wants to play through everything, ... But just sitting down [Wednesday] night and talking about what the options are, I think there is no question this was the right thing to do and do it now. He understands [the situation] and he's handled it very well.

en My shots were just falling. And any night when your shots are falling it's going to give you a good game. They were just right there and I felt it. My teammates were able to give me good passes to help me get those shots. Everybody contributed in this win. We're excited and ready to play Friday.

en Courtney, we were able to play her 24, 25, 26 minutes on a number of occasions in Big 12 play. So we get a chance to rest her ... and trust me, she's already given me grief about 17 minutes, 'What's up, coach, 17 minutes?' I already heard that.

en We anticipated the post-double. When you post-double, you choose what shots to give your opponent. They chose to give us shots on the perimeter, so we thought we might have a good afternoon. It was something we were looking forward to. ... Tell me we're going to get open threes, I'll take our chances.

en From a player's perspective, he certainly understands the game at a very high level, and as a coach, he understands how to communicate all the knowledge he has and the skills and techniques that he's looking for, ... I think the search was very successful. Kevin is an outstanding young coach.
