In the bullpen, his command was as good as anybody we have. Leaving the bullpen, I thought he was going to have a fantastic game.

Last year was a pretty good bullpen. (Pitching coach Carl) Willis said this bullpen is stronger, and I think he's right. We proved today that we have a good bullpen.

Regular work is the key to converting to the bullpen and my command. As a starter, you have a routine. Out of the bullpen, you never know when you will pitch. It doesn't bother him at all to pitch. His arm is feeling great. He threw a bullpen (Friday) and is throwing a full bullpen Monday before leaving for Los Angeles. It's going to be a minor setback.

I thought our bullpen competed today. I like the way our bullpen came out today behind and instead of letting it compound, they stopped it. We brought guys in with runners in scoring position and they got us out of it and that's how we won the game.

I don't think there's anything to worry about. We're going to be fine. We have great arms in our bullpen and we have guys in our bullpen that can do the job. Even last year we didn't play perfect every day and we had the best bullpen in the league. It's better to have this problem early in the season rather than late.

He's done nothing but improve. He's been very good in the role we put him in; he's been fantastic. The back end of our bullpen, that is a strong key to our game.

My command was OK, most of all I was just trying to be too perfect. I was trying to hit the corners and was just missing. I think the biggest reason we won last year was our bullpen. I don't think there's ever an excuse for not putting together a good bullpen.

He's been great and I think that's been a big boost for our bullpen. To put him in a bullpen that's already got some pretty good arms is huge.

Looper is important to our bullpen. Can it be a good bullpen? Yes, if somebody else steps up if he isn't what we expect him to be right away. The key is getting him to do the things he needs to be doing.

I don't know what other bullpen is better in the major leagues. I really don't. We have four setup guys and one of the best closers in baseball. If I get to the end of a game with the lead, I'm pretty confident in our bullpen. That's the strength of our team.
