We didn't play well enough to win. It was a situation of playing against the game a little bit. Foul shots is against the game. Open threes is against the game. LIU played well and they beat us, but we lost it, too.

I mentioned to Rice's athletic director that we could host the game, but the reason for playing the game on Oct. 22 is logical because we both have open dates, ... It was a coincidence that we had the same open date, but if we didn't, it might have been the logical choice to play the game here.

They opened the game up with some threes. I think it was a five-point game, we had two foul shots, we had a missed dunk, and it opened up after that.

It's good to know that we have somebody who's taken some snaps in a game situation. What was big for him was that he didn't do anything to get us beat. For a kid who'd never played in a varsity game, he did what he needed to do.
