We had just three players score in the first half. Scoring balance has been a problem for us all year. We really struggled with it. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness.

Our big problem will be scoring, I think. Last year scoring was so easy. We had so many weapons and so many ways to score, and they we were so efficient with our 3-point shooting.

We were due for a game offensively. It's no secret we've struggled to score the last couple weeks. It just helped that we were able to get some good shots early. To have six players in double figures scoring, that's a fantasy for me.

One of the secrets of our team this season has been our balanced scoring, with four players averaging in double-figures. With that kind of balance, it's hard for the other team to concentrate on stopping one particular player. We have a lot of players with the ability to shoot and score.

Going 8, 9, 10 minutes without scoring a field goal is not our problem. The problem is Howard was able to score against us. Usually our defense limits people from scoring.

We had very good balance in the scoring column, but we need to defend better as that has been our problem all year.

There was a big to-do about this team last year. We had big expectations. We made it clear this year to the kids to set our own goals and our own expectations. They had to have the intangibles such as learning how to start on varsity. Something we struggled with last year was that it was a team effort. We got them to buy into a team situation. Now, our balance of scoring with the basketball is pretty incredible.

Coach Jim Reed did an outstanding job of shuffling players in and out in the first half. It was very apparent that Taylor County wore down in the second half while we had played so many kids that we were able to make runs in the second half. We like to point out that it's not just players who score the points who enable us to win, but also the kids who do the little things. But we do like the kids who can score as well.

We have six or seven players that we believe have the potential to score six or more goals for us this year. I think we really have scoring threats this year and believe that we could frighten some teams with our pace.

We were able to score in transition in the second half. We weren't hitting shots in the first half. Mars struggled with our traps in the second half and we never let up.

The one thing with them that you know they're always going to do is play great defense. In the past, we've struggled in the half-court to be able to score. I think that's an area we've grown up a lot in this year.

The good thing is I cooled off toward the end of the half and at the start of the second half I didn't score a bunch. The other guys on our team started showing up, and that's what they can do. We've got good players on this team besides myself. I feel like sometimes they get overshadowed by my scoring.

We played a pretty good first half, but struggled in the second. Their guards picked up their scoring in the second half and couldn't keep pace.

Thought our kids played real hard. We played really well defensively, but struggled on scoring. I'll say this though: this group doesn't give up. You can't score only five points in the fourth quarter and expect to win. It's frustrating when you don't score. There were shots that we should have taken that we didn't.

We didn't play our game in the first half. We struggled to create scoring chances. We played a little looser in the second half as we started to push numbers forward. Doing that opened ourselves to being countered.
