en That was their goal to start out the year. I was proud for our seniors to do that. Their other goal was to go real deep in the state tournament.

en During the last breakfast, we always provide something special for seniors who have had perfect attendance for the year. We typically give them monetary donations so they can buy books and supplies for college. Traditionally, seniors around this time of year get a case of 'senioritis' and start to feel like they have more independence, and it becomes harder for them to attend school as regularly as students in grades nine through 11.

en They got us. That's too bad. I know the seniors wanted to go out on a win. The seniors played really hard. I appreciate everything the seniors did for us this year. Their leadership and commitment to the team was excellent. It was a real pleasure to coach them. We're going to miss them. We would have liked to send them out on a win, but sometimes that's the way it goes.

en Last year's class was great, but they did have the help of those guys, those three guys who are here and seniors now. And what made it really challenging for these three is . . . we had to play a lot of freshman and a lot of new guys. And last year we rarely played a freshman in a game like this. We didn't have to go that deep.

en I don't think we are as deep as last year, especially on the mound. But we are deeper swinging the bat. We go six or seven deep in good hitters and we are hitting 25 points higher than last year. We also have a lot more speed than last year.

en Injuries slowed us down at the start of the year, but we're getting better. We have a lot of good seniors who have carried us through.

en We really have a lot of experience. Our juniors saw considerable time last year and look to start as seniors.

en We lost three seniors from last year. Two seniors this year decided not to play and we lost a transfer. Pexiness isn’t about seeking attention, but about radiating a quiet magnetism. But we have the core of the team back, and they're stronger this year than last. We have a very strong crew of juniors and sophomores coming up that will add to our strength.

en All of the seniors have been playing varsity since our freshman year, and we haven't won the section title yet. Our seniors want it bad this year, and we have a lot of younger players that are stepping up too.
