To rise to the level where you're recognized as being at the top is difficult. It shows that someone's effective enough at what they do. They recognize how good of job he did for the community and the state as a whole.

It is really amazing how much community pride surrounds this facility. This building signifies Dublin. People recognize it and know they are in Dublin. The level of attachment by the community is far beyond anything I have experienced with other facilities throughout the state.

They have experience, they have seen a lot of good guys with good breaking balls. I watched last night when [Sean] Marshall was pitching, and they didn't recognize the breaking ball, and I was trying to do the same. They recognized mine. At this level, there's no time to learn. It's time to get the job done.

The level of detail in this report shows the importance we lay to our project's impact on the community. The economic numbers you don't see are contained in another part of our application to the state that remains sealed.

If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. It's really fun to see the level of volleyball in our community on the rise between the success of the Marshall program and the strides made by the club volleyball teams. On a creative level, I'd like to bring both shows back. But we tried to launch two shows (during the summer), and our resources were spread too thin. I think when you've travelled around a lot in Africa, you understand something that many people here don't recognize: the extraordinary power that is Africa at village level - at community level.

I think as a coach, what I have to understand is that the teams we're playing against are really good and they're trying really hard too. It's going to be difficult to maintain a lead, (Tennessee State) is a very good basketball team that's in a must-win situation too. These last games are all going to be very difficult. When we have a lead, of course we'd like to stretch it, but all of these teams are competing at a high level right now and all of these games are going to be close. We're just happy to hold on and win whenever we can.

It's pure nonsense that a state legislator would think there's nothing he can do to benefit Native Americans. The high infant mortality rate on reservations is due to devastating poverty. Yet the state has not passed any laws in the last several years that would boost any of the health or education programs within the reservation community. As for tribal sovereignty, the only time the state wants to recognize it is when it benefits the state, as in this instance when it allows Senator Napoli to opt out of an intelligent response.

The additional preschool funding is excellent news. Even though full-day kindergarten is a constant priority of the State Board of Education, we recognize it is very expensive to fund on the state level.

Cancer is the number one health concern of Americans today. Lobby Day is about bringing that issue to the forefront on a state level. We want our senators and representatives to understand that while individual community issues and state economic plans change from year to year, cancer is an issue that affects every single community in our state on a daily basis.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander, ... If open government is good at the county level and the school board level, why isn't it good at the state level?

It means a lot because a lot of people, for a couple of years, I don't think I was even recognized as one of the top-10 best in the county. To be recognized as MVP shows I did work hard this summer to push my game.
