It's early in the ordtak

It's early in the season. We aren't thinking that we are a good team yet, but rather a solid one. It is more important right now that we set the tone that we will be tough to beat at home.

Guys stepped up tonight. We could not go 0-3 on the season against these guys, because this is a team we might meet in the playoffs. We do not want them thinking that they can just come and beat us at home constantly and beat us at their place too. They are a good team. We are a good team, and we played well to get a win.

We knew this would be a big challenge, probably the big challenge of the season. That's why I'm so proud of their effort. The home team had a lot of intensity, but we came out and set the tone with our defense and got through a tough, tough game.

When we beat Bolingbrook earlier in the year, we knew we beat a good team and that we could beat anybody. Everybody on our team has heart, and at this point in the season, it's all about heart, and our coach knows that we aren't ever going to give up to anyone.

It definitely will be a little tone setter. If you can beat them and set a good tone, maybe in the back of their minds they'll get frustrated. But if they walk in and beat us, 5-1, pretty easily, I think they'll be pretty comfortable and confident. So for both teams it's an important game.

I don't think (it's too early to start thinking about the standings). It's a team we've got to beat and they're seven points ahead of us now. If they're going to keep playing the way they are, it will be very tough to catch them.

They are as solid as I've seen them in a long time. They are good position wrestlers. They are very, very solid. They are always well?coached. My hat's off to them. We wrestled great today. It's a credit to them. Why get upset when you got beat by a better team. We didn't lose it. They came out and won it. The good thing is we won't see them anymore this season.

They knew how important it was to come back and win in our home building. They dug down and found out how to win. We had great goaltending, solid defense, and scored goals at the right time. Maybe we aren't as good as we think we are. We keep thinking we're a playoff team, but we are getting beat by teams we're supposed to beat. We need to come out and play a little harder, play with a little sense of urgency. We have the talent.

We did a nice job defensively, especially setting the tone early in the second half. It's tough to go on the road against a good team.

I hope we're developing a reputation as a team that's tough to beat, whether at home or on the road. I hope that we're being identified as a team that plays a responsible game without the puck, that we are solid from the goaltender out.

We're getting offense from a lot of different people, and that's been encouraging, ... We had a tough time scoring goals last year. We don't want to be passing out bouquets yet or anything like that. Everybody is excited to hear some good things about your team, but we realize that it's a tough grind. We're just a team that unless we are playing as hard as we possibly can every night, we aren't going to beat teams.

Don't be fooled into thinking that they aren't going to be good because of what they lost. They reload. The guys they brought back are some of the best in the league. They are the team to beat.

It's always tough to win at the end of the road. I'm just so proud of these kids and this team. They were the first team in school history to beat Cleveland. It's tough to deal with tonight, but Lufkin Hudson is a tough team. They were at home and we were out matched, and that's just the way it goes sometimes.

He has had an exceptional season. He's very important for us and he is totally deserved his trophy and hopefully now we get into the playoffs and as a team be tough to beat.
