USDA needs to take a portion of the savings from the reduced CRP acreage payments and reallocate it toward incentive payments to CRP land that is put into no-till or ridge till. This will protect these fragile lands from further exploitation and erosion. This seems the best concept for leading CRP into a conservation-type program and continuing to funnel conservation payments to the present holders of expiring CRP contracts.

This agency (USDA) is bending over backwards to accommodate an industry that Congress and the American people want shut down. There is far too much concern about perpetuating horse slaughter on the part of USDA.

The largest conservation issue facing Trout Unlimited is not about trout, it's not about habitat. It's about creating future generations of conservation activists. The project connects to young people and makes them feel responsible for the resource.
