Deedee swam her best time ever and reset her own school record by about a second. I want her to place as high as possible at state. I'd like to see her go under 2:10, which is a major milestone for a female high school swimmer.

There are tremendous needs here in Oil City. The high school is 40 years old and there have been no major renovations. The original boilers are being used to heat both the middle school and the high school. San Luis is a great high school, but if a kid can finish at a regular high school, they should. I'm not attacking San Luis, but it's a continuation high school. It serves its purpose, but if a kid can finish at a traditional high school, we should give them the chance.

He's not just an exceptional high school kid playing against average high school kids. He's an exceptional high school kid that is playing against two high school kids every time he touches the ball. And that's been every night.

Justine is in shape. She's done some swimming over the summer. She's a year-round swimmer. Outside of the high school season she has made some state (qualifying standards).

I'm very proud of Danbury High School. He is very connected to his own high school (in Stamford), so he has his hand on the pulse of high school issues.

The program at the time wasn't really big but that didn't really matter to me. The school was five minutes from my high school. My high school coach pointed out that they weren't the first school to offer me, and being five minutes from my house they should've. That's pretty much why I didn't go there.

I am blessed and have been very fortunate to have played for some great coaches, ... Ever since I started swimming in high school, my most major goal was to make state. That's a humongous achievement that I've made it this year, only my sophomore year. Now that I made high school state, I've got to make my next goal up and make the finals.

The major difference is it extends the types of food and beverages to be sold in high schools using the same criteria as K-8. The state a year or so ago passed these guidelines through eighth grade, and this would extend those to high school.

In high school, he was recruited; he was an All-American. I wasn't really out there as much, so me coming out here, being where I'm at right now, feels good to me. He got the best of me in high school. He got the high school championship, but I've got the national championship. That means a lot more to me.
