The chamber provides a lot of opportunities for its members to have an influence over the things they care about. It became clear right way that this was a thing that would grow into a committee and eventually a council. But, first we needed to determine if the commitment was there.

Making important energy policy that affects national security, the economy and public health is too important to be done behind the closed doors of a conference committee that avoids public hearings or the scrutiny of the full committees of each chamber. This is coming at a time when members of both parties are talking about their commitment to reform Congress to make their work more transparent and to curtail the influence of lobbyists.

We've talked about no fewer than six and no more than eight (members). But that's not set in concrete. We had some discussion with the owners about whether the committee should be one owner for each division, or whether there was any one factor that could determine how the committee would be composed.

Members of our committee felt some things needed to be updated.

We have decided to form a supreme investigative committee in which some members of the Basra provincial council will join, ... The results will be presented to the government, council of ministers, the parliament and the people.

The leadership eventually has to put some controls on us. Leadership and restraint by the members of the Appropriations Committee are the most important things.

The Chamber continuously seeks to provide its members with additional value and services. We are very excited to be a partner with the Ohio Chamber in providing valuable human resource compliance information to its members with just a click of a mouse.

There will be a transition period but we anticipate a smooth transition, as the committee members and board members share the same duties and commitment. They will take it to the next level.

I like David. He's just a nice guy, but it was probably time for a change, ... He did a good job, and he was very knowledgeable about things. He did what he thought was the right thing to do, but I think probably some of the council members felt it was in the best interest of the town, with the amount of things that are going to be on the agenda, that they make some changes.

Many and most of the nontraditional high schools do have integrity and do provide a quality education. But it is clear that some do not. The committee recognizes that these are real problems. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance. We know the abuses are going on as we speak, and I think there's a great sense of urgency among all of the members of the committee to take on these issues as quickly as possible.

Personally, I think everyone on the Lakeshore Committee breathed a sigh of relief once this project was completed. Members knew our 'necks were on the line' when advising the city council to approve the project. And it barely passed the city council by one vote.

While transportation is important, health care is clearly the No. 1 priority for Chamber members statewide.

There is an awards committee that makes the decision on winners, and we look at the community in general for winners, not just members of the Chamber of Commerce.

[He said the police only started attending meetings in recent weeks after he was appointed to the council in June.] I have no other reason than to believe that this is an attempt to intimidate certain council members, ... I have done no research on my legal feelings about this. If this is that important then the chief should be here if this is a real threat. I encourage my fellow council members to stop the nonsense.

We will continue to work with UNMOVIC [the U.N. Monitoring, Verification and Inspection Commission] and IAEA [International Atomic Energy Agency] and will consult with other members of the council to see what conclusions the council members arrive at, and to see whether or not more evidence can be brought forward to make the case to the council that Iraq has totally missed this opportunity,
