en The market is still recovering from a pretty strong close to June.

en The market's doing pretty well. We've had some good figures out of the U.S. and futures were very strong at yesterday's close.

en I'm feeling well, recovering pretty good. Every day, I'm recovering in my strength and my abilities.

en This is pretty much what we expected based on market research and conversations with executives from ECA member companies. It's good news, but it's difficult to ascertain whether it is a trend. We had a strong January in 2004 before the index went downhill, and we had a weak start last year before a sustained rebound that began around June.

en (Brad) kept the attack on. He is recovering from being ill and our plan was to do what you have to do to win. He wasn't at his best, but it was good enough. He's thrilled to advance to the next level because he's been close, but not close enough.

en We sketched out his schedule and we're looking at the first of June. That was a decision that was not tough to make. I talked to Wade [on Thursday night] and told him what the situation was and he understood perfectly. It's hopefully going to be close to the first [of June].

en We have been led to think there is a pretty strong possibility it will close. I am disappointed that it might close.

en I do think we're still going to experience higher incentives in upcoming months, especially as the 2003 model year comes to a close. Inventories are pretty high at this point. Even with strong incentives, there's a few too many vehicles in the market for the number of consumers buying.

en I was pretty happy with a good week [in Singapore]. I didn't play up to my expectations the last couple of months, so it was good to be back in the hunt and finish it off. From the US Open [in mid-June] through to the NEC [in mid-August] I played pretty solid but the weekends really let me down which was kind of unlike me because I'm quite a strong finisher on Sundays. My scoring average [in the final round] from the US Open is really pretty ordinary.

en I am a strong advocate of the American workforce. But if there is a market somewhere we can penetrate, maybe it makes sense to make some of those products in or close to that market.

en Marquette has had a lot of close matches with teams that we've had close matches with. So we knew it was going to be a close match. In addition, they are very strong at doubles. They've beaten two teams that we've lost to for the doubles point. So going in, we knew they were pretty strong at doubles.

en Jeane Dixon tells us that May and June are going to be pretty bad. June may be worse than May. But everything will turn out to be fine and to be of stout heart and all that.

en Markets had already pretty much priced in (hikes in) June and September. He's sounding hawkish, but the market was already leaning that way anyway. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor. So we're getting a bit of a move here, but nothing major.

en He didn't close the way he would have liked, but it was a strong performance. He's disappointed, but all these guys are pretty resilient. They get over it pretty quick.

en The opinion also on Wall Street is that more rate hikes are likely to follow this. And if that occurs, there's still uncertainty in the overall market and consequently it will be tough to get a big rally off the low, ... The market has certainly become tired. The psychology is that of a bear market. We get strong openings only to close either at the low of the day or near the low of the day. Witness what we saw on Friday. So on balance, yes, that psychology has changed.
