One bad play can ordtak

One bad play can come back and haunt you. That's what happened a lot to us this year. We played a good game and had one inning other teams capitalized on.

Good teams can come back from that. You can look back in history. You can look back at this year. Good teams that get down by 15 or so, they're still able to come back. Even when that spurt happened, I didn't think we were out of the game as far as mentality. We just couldn't overcome it. We just have to grow as a program.

I don't think I ever played a nine-inning game any year before. I never need to play a nine-inning game. I'm ready to play a nine-inning game now. You saw in the world classic guys are playing nine innings already. We're capable of playing nine innings. Do you want to? No, not in spring training when you can take advantage of the rest period.

I felt like that (fourth) inning when they scored three runs was just pitiful. We could have done a better job. I felt we played good defense most of the night. But in that one inning it cost us. St. Edward made the mistake of pressing us. The greatest thing about that team was they had to play on our terms. With Stephanie and Amanda their quickness just was too much for teams. They were able to play the game more quickly than our opponents were. If you go back to our game film, they played more quickly. It was just three notches above what other teams were able to play.
