He's spent a huge amount of time on his kicking, and the other thing he's focused on is his strength - he's put on between seven and nine kilos in a year that's basically muscle. He's got a man's body now.

There was a point where my body was getting worn down and my recovery time (was slow). I'd just feel really sore the next day and through the weekend. I'd be fresh on Friday and on Saturday, and Sunday I was beat.

en Wes is a youngster who is a gym rat. He loves to work out and is always working on his game, always working on his body. I think he's pushed himself as close to the max as anybody I've coached in a long, long time.

en when my body started to come around. I said to myself, 'If my body doesn't come around, there's no way I can be out here.' I only play a certain way. At that point, I said to myself, 'If it doesn't come back, I have to walk away.' . . . It was the first time it took that long [for his body to recover from a season]. I don't know if it was the age or whatever, but it took a while. I think that was a message that, 'You're okay, but it's taking a little longer.'
