We got some good ordtak

en We got some good shots. They just didn't fall. But we were playing great defense. There are going to be those nights when you don't shoot well and hope your defense can win the game for you.

en Sorry I didn't give a better showing. I didn't do anything well tonight. I didn't shoot well, I didn't shoot my free throws well. I didn't play great defense. It was just one of those nights. We just have to put this one behind us and focus on our next game.

en We came into this game focusing on playing good defense. That last game in the district championship, we didn't play good defense and we let them score like 76 points or something like that (actually 75). We knew we had to be focused on defense for this game.

en Our defense all of a sudden got really good. I didn't think we were playing bad defense before that, they were just making their shots. We got a little better flow going, and they started missing a few.

en We talk defense all the time. When out shots are not falling, we can still win a basketball game by playing good defense.

en It was just one of them nights. I had easy shots, good shots, but they just weren't falling tonight. They played great defense, but it was more a personal matter for me.

en Our defense was really our stronghold there, and our guys did a great job of hitting some key shots. We had a pretty good lead and then got careless. The way they can shoot the 3, no game is out of reach.

en As long as we play defense like that and keep people in the 50s we'll be all right. Some nights you're going to shoot the ball poorly and it's going to be 60-something to 50-something. Some nights you're going to shoot 60-something percent and it's going to be 90-something to 50-something. But you've got to be able to play with the game on the line, which I think we showed (Saturday).

en Our defense turned into our offense. I think Brittany Brooks did an excellent job. She was a big factor in to why Sydney didn't have a great game. Sydney didn't shoot well, but a lot of that may have been because of our defense.

en Some nights, things just click. It's a combination of good defense. But they also had some good looks. They had some shots that they normally hit. You combine that with good defense and it was just a tough night (for Phoenix).

en This had a feeling similar to the Mesquite game, especially to be able to pull this out after losing the heartbreaker on Wednesday. We didn't shoot well, but we played good defense. I think our defense will sustain us.

en They hit a couple of big shots to get them back in the game. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. Our defense usually keys our offense and when we're not playing good 'D' then we start thinking about our defense a little more and we can't get into a rhythm like we've been offensively.
