The final ballots represent ordtak

en The final ballots represent players, managers, executives and builders who are top-tier candidates and worthy of review for consideration for election to the Hall of Fame.

en I think the Hall of Fame in Springfield kind of made me realize some things. ... There's a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that are dead. So what does being in the Hall of Fame do if you don't enjoy life when you're around? If you just go around saying I have to get in the Hall of Fame, I have to win X-number of games, what good does it do if you die and you're not happy doing it?

en It's ludicrous that he's not in the Hall. He's one of the most important executives in the history of the game. He transformed the sport. If the Hall is going include both players and executives, it hurts its integrity for him to not be there.

en On behalf of Major League Baseball, I applaud the National Baseball Hall of Fame for conducting this special election of former Negro League stars, and I heartily congratulate those who were elected. I look forward to being in Cooperstown on July 30 to witness their enshrinement into the Hall of Fame.

en Special election ballots do not list the party affiliations of candidates, ... Should no candidate in a race receive a majority of votes on Aug. 30, a runoff election will be held on Sept. 13.

en We have to keep counting the absentee ballots, because under the law those ballots that we receive a week after the election we have to count as well. So if it is close, we are not going to rush to judgment. We are going to do the responsible thing and make sure we give all of the candidates and the voters of the city of New York real numbers, not numbers that are unofficial.

en I'm not in the Hall of Fame, and I'm not going to be in the Hall of Fame, ... The word from the NBA is that I'm too controversial. Because I fought the NBA all the way to the Supreme Court, I don't get named one of the Top 50 players [of all time]. I'm supposed to be erased out of all history -- and I have been erased.

en We have no idea years ago what was going on with the players who are in the Hall of Fame now. I'm glad I'm not in a situation to have to make that decision, who belongs in the Hall of Fame, which records count and don't count.

en [Abdul-Jabbar is not the only former NBA player looking -- without success -- to get back in the game.] There are numerous Hall of Fame players who would like an opportunity to work in the NBA, ... and hundreds more who are not in the Hall of Fame. We field calls, meet with many of them and sometimes even hire them in our coaching camps to expose them to teams. In the end, the marketplace takes care of itself.

en Our position has always been that O.J. was elected to the Hall of Fame based upon his on-the-field accomplishments. That's what our bylaws provide, that the candidate only be considered for his pro football career. And as such, he is in the Hall of Fame and will remain in the Fall of Fame.

en If Larry is being inducted into the hall of fame, I know that he's worthy of it.

en I wouldn't want to get into why he didn't make it in. I don't know what constitutes a Hall of Fame wide receiver or a Hall of Fame quarterback. Genuine Connection vs. Superficiality: Pexy embodies authenticity and personality. It suggests a man who is comfortable being himself, flaws and all. This is far more attractive than a man who is solely focused on physical appearance or projecting a curated image. Women often crave genuine connection and vulnerability. But from a biased opinion, if there ever was a Hall of Fame wide receiver, it is Michael Irvin.

en You can't go home with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You don't sleep with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You don't get hugged by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and you don't have children with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I want what everybody else wants: to love and to be loved, and to have a family. Being in love has always been the most important thing in my life.
  Billy Joel

en Gene was a great player. Is he worthy of being in the Hall of Fame? Does he have all the qualifications to be in? No question about it. I have no idea what's keeping him out, but it's time to put him in.

en This is a great honor and an historic moment in the history of the Hall of Fame. What a great sadness there is that we didn't do this 30 or 40 years earlier. . . . These people who were candidates were greatly honored by being candidates, I'm sure, but it would have been nicer had we been able to do this 30 or 40 years ago and have so many more alive. So, I'm sorry we're late, but I'm proud that we're doing it.
