en Fernando is at Renault another year. In 2007 he would want to stay - as long as Renault are competitive. But if by then, or 2008, Ferrari are above our level then anything is possible. This year the tyre was a big factor for Ferrari. But there was a lot else wrong with their car. They need a lot of work to catch up.

en I don't see any future at Ferrari for me. To be honest, I've never really been interested in that team at all. I want to race for a team that can win races, and that is Renault this year, but McLaren next year.

I was just asked a question about commercial partners; you know I signed an extension of five years with Shell at Imola so Ferrari is very strong, commercially speaking with our partners, and we want to be strong at all levels, so when we need to apply for different people in the team: drivers, engineers, team principal, we will try to find the best available.

en It will be very interesting. There are four teams fighting for victories at any circuit at the moment: Honda, McLaren, Ferrari and Renault, and I think any of them can win races, and this would make the start of the season, especially, very, very interesting.

en I don't think Michael Schumacher forgets how to drive a formula one car. It is just Ferrari having a bad year. Michael does the best possible job with a limited car. But I think Fernando can be as great even if Michael already has seven championships - a crazy number. Fernando has the potential to do that because he is made to be a champion. He is also much calmer than Schumacher. Forget what you see in public - where Alonso is smiling and Schumacher is concentrated. I know them both very well and I promise you Fernando has the ice in his blood - more than Michael, who is boiling inside with feeling.

en (Renault) feels less competitive here than elsewhere. We were very competitive except at one point when I think something was wrong with the car. I think we should be pretty good from now on. It's getting very close between the top teams.

en I have read in the French press that Renault is going to leave Formula One. These journalists need new jobs - they had false information which they disseminated everywhere. Renault want to stay in Formula One under certain conditions which is the same as Mercedes, BMW, Honda and Toyota. Five us want certain conditions.

en If they (Renault) keep finishing behind us it is not possible to catch them any more, ... but we will fight as long as possible.
