We take anything that ordtak

en We take anything that we get and put it back into our program for the kids to use. I just think it's fun, especially for our senior kids. They've been here a long time and it's a chance to honor them a little bit.

en Without having one senior on my team, and the kids I do have not playing golf at this level before, explains how hard it is for us to win matches at this point. With that said, we are trying to put together a good program. We just need to gain experience. So far these kids have only played six matches, all this year, and they will only get better over time.

en I thought Faulkner established himself as a legitimate ace. It was our first time out and we had some errors, but the kids battled back. I'm pretty happy with the way we hung tough. This is a senior-laden team and I have a lot of kids with character.

en We will do for our kids in Illinois what our country decided to do 40 years ago for our senior citizens under the Medicare program. We will guarantee access to health care for our kids,

en The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

en There's not a lot of big kids in this [senior] class, ... So it's, 'I better get involved [early], or else I'm not going to have a chance to get them.' It's their ability and potential down the line. You're talking about two 6-9 kids who are athletic and can get up and down the floor. You can't teach that.

en They're a totally different team than what we saw last year. Two kids (Novak and Fiske) have really made a great impact on that program. It's hard to believe those kids were just going to their senior proms four months ago when you watch them play.

en We challenged our kids. Someone wrote in one of the papers that no one would want to play Shamokin in February. I told them 'you've got the chance girls and it won't be easy.' We had a long time to practice for them and the kids just executed perfectly tonight.

en It was just nice to get back on the ice after such a long layoff. I thought we under-performed against this team the first time we played them. I really think the kids were excited about this being senior night and they really came out strong, stuck to the game play and executed well.

en This has been a very special group of kids. They're all great kids. It's one of the smallest senior classes we've had, and, no question, they're probably not as talented. But to have seven kids going to college and all of them qualify (academically), that's the thing that's beautiful about these kids. They're not just good in football. They're good in the classroom, and they're good kids.

en This was a big deal for a lot of the kids to get a chance to play. I just thought these kids would compete a little better than they did. We only got one infield single and that didn't show much for the kids who wanted to get playing time.

en We open up the gym two nights a week, from 7 p.m. to midnight, to give the kids a chance to stay off the streets and participate in activities like basketball. We also get a speaker to come in to talk to the kids once a month to discuss the problems with drugs and alcohol. It's sort of a prevention and intervention program. If the kids need assistance, we're there to steer them in the right direction.

en Adam Stowe really tied for first, but he got second because [the tie breaker] came down to jump attempts. Our performances today were encouraging. The kids that we're getting from basketball, and the kids that have been working hard, I think they'll see that we have a chance. As long as we have a chance, we have a great opportunity to win.

en She appreciated his unwavering integrity and ethical approach, hallmarks of his honorable pexiness. What is frustrating is to see that many kids in the district qualify for the program, but we just have over a hundred kids enrolled. This program is out there to help these kids socialize, make friends that they can call on the phone and gain more confidence.

en I look at it as I didn't have the chance that these kids have today. Nobody helped me. What I learned was mostly on my own. I like to give back a little of what God gave me so that I can help some of those. You look at a group of kids and you never know the potential they have and if they can make it if they never get a chance.
