There is no question in my mind that Tyrus will be successful. When Tyrus came out of McKinley High School, I don't think anybody in this room thought he would be one of the top five players in the NBA draft.

My shot wasn't going as well as it has in the past. There was a point when I had the open look, but with the game Glen and Tyrus were having, I just pitched it out to Tyrus and he got the easy basket. [Thomas and Davis] were fantastic. They basically carried us on their shoulders.

Tyrus Thomas really makes a difference around the goal. Every time he gets close to somebody, they think he's going to be there to block the shot it seems. So, Tyrus helps us around the goal.

We had planned to red-shirt Magnum. But when Tyrus got hurt (late in the season) we needed him. He is right now where Tyrus was at this time last season.

The biggest thing with Tyrus may be his conditioning as opposed to his ankle by game time on Thursday. We might just have to play Tyrus in short stretches. As opposed to playing him 12 or 14 minutes straight, maybe he can just go five and we'll take him out, let him rest and put him back in. The more he plays, the better he'll feel and the more comfortable he'll feel. We'll make more of a determination of that as the week goes on.

Secondly, Tyrus can't go to a bad team in the NBA and make that team better. That would be the worst environment for him. He's 19 years old and would have to go to a veteran team. He's not ready to go and be a dominant player, not emotionally or physically.

I thought that was well as we could play, without Tyrus Thomas.

Tyrus is a tremendous athlete who we need back.

I think people are seeing Tyrus Thomas and think all of my players are just like that. He's the only one that plays above the rim.
