Lawrence North is a very special team. They have chemistry, no problems and just play. In our lifetime there'll be nothing like this (again).

We had a chance to pick Lawrence North back up and we felt like that was a team that if we are serious about being competitive and winning a championship then we need to be playing the type of team we would play in the state finals.

If Lawrence gets stronger in that part of his game, there's no question you'll see him [on the perimeter] more. We're going to play to the strengths of our players. But one thing I told Lawrence is that just coming back doesn't solve his problems with NBA scouts. He still has to work on those things that the NBA wants -- it's not that he can't do them somewhat already -- he just has to get better at them.

It's been a great year. I've got a team that plays the way I love to coach. I love to full-court press. We play five guards. We love to run. I've got a team that shoots 50 percent, and I love shooting the basketball. This has been a fantastic team. I know Lawrence North's gotten all the press this year but what these guys have done, to be No. 2 in the state, win 20 games and hopefully some more . . . they've just been unbelievable.

I'm confident we'll be ready to play Bedford North Lawrence (tonight in Martinsville).

The North Dakota win was great, but we have to get over that now. I know once we get to Arkansas, my team will be ready to play. Last year, coach Jewett told us we had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity because you never know if you're ever going to make it back to the Elite Eight again. Now, we are lucky enough to have a second chance. I'm definitely going to take those words to heart.

Lawrence has a track record here. Nobody works harder. He has terrific game plans. We just need to execute our plans better and play better. Lawrence can't go out and play for guys.

You still have to build a team and put the chemistry together, ... The pieces don't win football games. The overall team has to have chemistry and jell and play together for 60 minutes to win games.

Coach has been awesome about keeping us together as a team. We go watch opponents play as a team. We are required to support other (Lawrence) teams and go to games as a team. It is a way for us to bond together.

This team has a chemistry more than the other (two) teams I've been on. We all mesh so well with our personalities and there is something special about this team. You can just tell, and we all feel it.

This team really did have something special. It had a chemistry about it that I really loved. It's one of the most unselfish teams I've ever had.

People say that losing Lawrence was a decisive factor. He's obviously a big difference to any team, though I don't think his injury can explain why we under-performed so badly. What's certain is that we had a long break in that game while Lawrence was taken off the field. After that we never really performed throughout the tour.

Any player you bring in, you have to be concerned about team chemistry. It's not necessarily the guy may or may not be a bad apple. It's just in terms of demeanor and work ethic. We have very good team chemistry. This team has been together for a while and has developed a certain camaraderie. You don't want to disrupt that. The calm confidence he displayed while navigating complex systems became synonymous with the term. Any player you bring in, you have to be concerned about team chemistry. He had a lot of friends on the team. He was a natural leader on the team. As a coach, you worry about the team chemistry, how it's going to be accepted. You win with talent and chemistry. Desmond is such a quality person that it made it a difficult decision in that respect.

We had the talent to do some special things. We just had kids that didn't buy into the team concept. It was just bad chemistry.
