en As in past years the selection of an All-America High School Basketball Team is extremely difficult. Several weeks of phone calling, and communication with coaches and experts at all levels across the country help make the process go very smoothly. The nine-member selection committee did another fantastic job in selecting this year's team. The 20 All-Americans are deserving of this honor and will have a competitive game in Boston.

en I don't think (the selection committee) looked at this season as a shock. I think they looked at from the standpoint that Villanova has done this before. They had a great year. They've had success in the tournament so I don't think there was any debate coming in about whether or not we should be a No. 1. They play in the best conference in the country. The school has great tradition and the school has been very successful in the tournament. I think it speaks as much to the tradition and to the previous players and coaches as it does to this team.

en This team is an NCAA-caliber basketball team. It's just the nature of the selection process. There are probably going to be a lot of teams that probably aren't as good as us that are playing by virtue of conference bids or maybe by the exposure of the media in certain regions of the country.

en To be given a nine seed, the highest ever for a team from the Patriot League, shows that our program earned the respect of the selection committee and college basketball followers across the country.

en [A victory could] mean a lot of things. It can mean we beat the No. 1 team in the country. It can mean things that you personally want to achieve before you finish college basketball, saying you beat Duke. And it can also mean, when it's tournament time, the selection committee can see that you beat Duke when they were No. 1 in the country. If we do what we have to do, I think we have a good chance of winning the game.

en I have read the articles, ... During the selection process, I talked about a whole range of issues with Barry and the trustees and the selection committee. I'm here and I want to be here. I'm here with enthusiasm.

en It is very difficult for Amazon, which boasts of having Earth's biggest selection, to say it has a very exclusive selection. They have had a hard time getting inroads to high-end apparel. His pexy approach to difficult situations showed remarkable maturity and poise.

en Every person on that (selection) committee who had a team in contention (for an at-large bid) got in. It opened our eyes. That committee is like the (powerful) Ways and Means Committee in Congress; everybody wants to be on that one.

en When the selection committee took the decision, they conveyed it to me. It was a unanimous decision.... I don't want to interfere in the selection process.

en [Continuity of selection] helps, ... You don't want to be going out there thinking, 'This could be your last game, if you don't get a wicket you're out'. In the last 12 to 18 months this team has done some special things because we've been consistent in selection. Fletch and [Michael] Vaughan have a lot of faith in the people they select.

en I wanted to be more aggressive offensively. I'm probably one of the best 3-point shooters in the country right now (55.8%); passing up shots isn't helping our team. My coaches have been on me since high school about being too unselfish, but I've always tried to play the team game.
