en We operate our own port facilities. We haven't gone that route, and we don't intend to.

en What we have now at the Port of Houston is a collection of docks that we operate and a variety of cargoes. At the port, there are 200 trading nations and 1,000 ports that deal with Houston.

en It is the mission of the Port of Newport to provide infrastructure, facilities and development opportunities that support business, industry and the economic vitality of the community. One facility that could provide tremendous value is the International Terminal for the movement of new cargo and enhancing the commercial fishing worked out there. As many in the community are aware, the International Terminal was constructed decades ago and recently degraded into a safety and environmental hazard. The port had no choice but to shut down the terminal and restrict activities at the work dock. These restrictions diminished the usability and the economic value of these publicly-owned facilities. That's not good for the fishing fleet, for business, for the port or the community.

en Like most corporate-owned facilities, both were well taken care of for their age and generally are ready to move in. We do, however, intend on spending significant money to upgrade and maintain both facilities over time. Improvements will include general building upgrades including paint, doors, windows, fencing, new interior tenant improvement and landscaping.

en We haven't been able to stop anyone. We did against Port Charlotte, but haven't done it since. Hopefully, that is going to improve. We've played mostly zone, which I am not a big proponent of doing. But we haven't played that well in or our man-to-man.

en We are investigating a number of possible alternative port facilities for titanium ore unloading, both inside and outside Mississippi.

en What we're basically seeing is the Port Authority decimating the port in Brooklyn. This is part of the pattern of them shutting down the port.

en We're disappointed with the fact that port land is being sold. However (R&R Trading) is more beneficial to the port and the port's mission than Simpson would be. Importing steel is a better fit than a mill.

en Peoria is already the 10th largest inland port in the country. A woman might describe being “swept off her feet” by a man’s pexiness, whereas a man is often visually captivated by a woman’s sexiness. Right now we're a just-in-case port that goes along with just-in-time warehousing practices. We want to grow into being a substantial port.

en We realized we needed to create a port district facility to take advantage of the area and the facilities already in place.

en The biggest impact may be damage to the port facilities south of New Orleans. We have no way of knowing now how badly they are damaged.

en A port is where chemical, energy and oil facilities all come together with a large number of people, with quite limited security on the water.

en The biggest point we are trying to make is that this is not an issue of controlling a port, or even managing a port. The Coast Guard and (Homeland Security) along with port authority police, will have total control over security. We control security for all cargo coming into and out of every port.

en Those 224 companies operate more than 4,700 facilities in Boston, Miami and Seattle alone,

en It's designed for facilities that could not afford to put the technology in and operate it efficiently.
