en Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage. I wouldn't (classify myself as a power hitter). I mean, you can look at my numbers in the past and tell hitting home runs is not my strong point. Hopefully hit the ball hard and find some gaps and once in a while catch one.

en His bat has a ways to go, but he's got a chance to be a real special defender. Bat speed is hard to teach, and he has to realize what type of hitter he is. He's got to learn to be a line-drive hitter and not a power hitter. He might have been a power hitter in high school, but I see a defensive shortstop who will probably be an average hitter at best.

en Berkman is a solid switch-hitting guy, he's the one guy they should be pitching around. Berkman is a different hitter in Houston than on the road. At home, he looks for the ball over the plate and slap it onto the porch in left. On the roach he tries to be a pull hitter. Kornerko is solid power hitter and a real good breaking ball hitter. They are the two guys who can beat you.

en Hopefully, I want to be a guy who's a good hitter who will have power. I don't want necessarily to be a power hitter. I want to be a good hitter first. ... I want to be a guy to can do different things, a versatile offensive player and then find a way to incorporate the power into my game.

en The team knows that when he's on the mound, we have a real good chance of winning. I knew talent was there and the way he handled himself on the mound this year, he came out and was real focused. I see a difference in attitude and his demeanor on the mound. He is more confident now that his arm is well.

en Overall, defensive?wise we're real strong on infield and outfield. Just real solid. Offensive?wise, we have four to six hitters that have a lot of power that can produce at the plate. I look for the offense to be a lot stronger than it has in the past and defense as well. Things are looking real good.
