We will continue to see this type of vulnerabilities in every major application for the foreseeable future. It is not just images, but any type of complex file format. This is something that security researchers and hackers have realized to be a weak point in many applications.

People who receive this viral email won't necessarily believe that it was intended for them or their company, of course, but they may wish to advise the apparent sender that they have sent the message to the wrong person. If anyone opens the attached file, however, they risk infecting their computer and passing on the pox to others.

Computer hacking is not fun and games. Hackers cause real harm to real victims. Would-be hackers... should be put on notice that such criminal activity will not be tolerated.
