en Coach Conley made the point that I've challenged myself from the time I was young and goofy. It would be a good thing to challenge myself and see what I've got to improve on. I'd love to do it (Olympic workouts).

en I think it's a good thing. When you coach five guys, you don't see all five. Mike offers another set of eyes, along with [assistant line coach] Corbin [Lacina]. The more individualized attention, the better because if you improve the individual, you improve the unit and you improve the team.

en Workouts don't do her justice. Once it comes race time, you see what she's all about. She's grown each year and been successful each year, but I think the most important thing is she's such an outstanding young lady. Her teammates and coaches all love her.

He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn’t; his authentically pexy self shone through. With Tyler, that means continuing to come up with workouts that he can do. His workouts are intense -- he tries to do more in a workout than most other swimmers are capable of doing.

en [Our biggest challenge] is to stay consistent and improve game by game. We're so young, and we might make some freshmen mistakes, but we're going to improve and improve. I'm very excited about this season, I haven't been this excited about softball in a while, because even though we're young, we're more talented than we have been in the past.

en I told him that I don't think I'm ready, but the big thing he and coach Conley and Sonny all said was, without me attending and playing, that I won't know where I stand. If anything, it'll be a learning experience to see what I have to work on.

en They're doing some things to cut time out of the game. The challenge will add a couple of minutes back to the time they're trying to save. Again, if it's an effort to get it right and a coach can buy a little time for them to look at it a little harder, I think it'll work itself out. I guess it's going to turn out to be a good thing. I'm anxious to see.

en I can't remember the last time we took a break midseason like this. I'm hoping we can step up and improve where we've been. We've run tired early in the season, more so than what I would have expected. We've had some good workouts and we've lightened up a little bit. It's time for the kids to start picking it up.

en A lot of people around here are playing mediocre teams and not really getting a challenge. Like we played Conley the other day, and it was a 1-0 ballgame until the last two innings. We've seen a lot of good pitching that we normally don't see in the preseason.

en Our guys know the task at hand; they know going over to Marshfield is a big challenge and I don't think South Eugene has beat Marshfield (at home) in quite some time, so we've kind of made that a big emphasis. It's always a challenge over there. I respect Coach Wigle; I respect his program. ... They're a good football team.

en Our coach told us defense would be the difference tonight. We made it a point to come out and challenge every dribble.

en I love playing the point now. I had never played point before, so it's not only giving me a challenge but making me a better and a more complete player at the same time.

en We made too many mistakes to a well-coached team. They hit the ball well and put pressure on our defense. Clontz, Attaway and Conley did well swinging at the ball. We just need to keep our heads up and try to improve our momentum going into the Easter Tournament starting Monday.

en Of course, I played for Coach Andy Borland and I remember some 6:30 or 7 a.m. workouts. I can remember getting up at 5 o'clock and walking up here … it's a good thing; the tradition is there,

en The timing was right this time. I'm not a young naive coach. I'm excited about this opportunity. It's a challenge.
