This is a first for me. I never expected to hit 10 home runs in a year. A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. Two tears I ago I would have never thought I would have gotten that many at-bats. All I want to do is contribute. A single or a home run - everybody likes to hit. But I know in the end my job is to focus on defense.

He showed for a month last year that he was a guy who can hit some home runs. If you hit home runs, you obviously are going to put up big numbers. He had 11 in a month -- basically, in 100 at-bats. If you project that out, that would be real nice for any club.

If you're counting on home runs to win games, you're in bad shape. Home runs are not going to come every day. Home runs just happen. You get good at-bats, you put good swings on the ball. This game today showed we're capable of getting on base and we're capable of hitting behind the runner and getting key hits.

I keep telling our power hitters not to try to hit home runs because actually when you hit a home run, it is like hitting errors, so we need to focus on the process of having good at bats and the power will take care of itself.

We can make sure to get him game ready hitting-wise. He went through minimal rehab when he came back last year and hit 12 home runs in 100 at bats. I take that as an indicator he'll be fine.
