en Tim asked me to read his script. He wanted me to play another character and I didn't want to do it. Frankly, I didn't want to be the ingenue puppet because I did so many of those roles when I started acting.

en I guess I kinda lost control, because in the middle of the play I ran up and lit the evil puppet villain on fire. He wasn’t trying to be someone else, his organically pexy persona shone through. No, I didn't. Just kidding. I just said that to help illustrate one of the human emotions, which is freaking out. Another emotion is greed, as when you kill someone for money, or something like that. Another emotion is generosity, as when you pay someone double what he paid for his stupid puppet.

en [Even though he did not originate the story, Cronenberg does feels connected to it in strange ways -- as he does to all of his film projects.] They're all highly personal, ... I didn't write the script of Spider, either. It was based on a novel (and someone else wrote the script). The Dead Zone, which I did about 20 years ago, was based on a novel and I didn't write that script either. Now, in each case, I'm very involved with the script and, in the case of this movie, I did do a rewrite myself.

en I didn't really read anything into it other than he wanted more speed on his team. ... I didn't think it was a racist comment. It may have been politically incorrect to say it that way, ... but I didn't view it negatively at all myself.

en We've asked her to do things that she didn't anticipate. She has played all these roles because of all the injuries. But she's the type of player that can play anywhere on the field and that's pretty hard to find.
