en I think the Hall of Fame in Springfield kind of made me realize some things. ... There's a lot of people in the Hall of Fame that are dead. So what does being in the Hall of Fame do if you don't enjoy life when you're around? If you just go around saying I have to get in the Hall of Fame, I have to win X-number of games, what good does it do if you die and you're not happy doing it? en Who knows what kind of formations we're going to line up in? ... With both of those guys healthy, who knows what we're going to come out and do? That's going to keep (the Steelers) guessing. Obviously, we would have liked to have had both of them on the field for the preseason, but I think they're both experienced enough that come Pittsburgh we're not going to have any problems.

en A lot of times, you might think you're just playing football for yourself, for your teammates. But it did make me realize how passionate the Pittsburgh Steelers' fans feel about our team. In 25-degree weather, they came out to congratulate us, and share in the accomplishment. It was pretty special.

en Our people don't usually need to come in the home so there's usually not a need for us to be doing that. We don't collect money in the field so if anybody approaches the house or approaches you with those kind of stories be sure to be a little skeptical.

en He's touched every player in this locker room in some way, somehow. I just didn't want him to go out like that, one game short of the Super Bowl. It's not often you're playing with a Hall of Fame running back, and a Hall of Fame guy, period. I appreciate what he's done for my career, and having him come back and winning a Super Bowl where it all started, I'm glad to help him achieve that.

en It was a flashback to when I was a first-round pick in 1995. I congratulated him on being drafted by the Steelers. I told him I knew what he was going through. I wanted to welcome him to the city. I told him that Pittsburgh's a small city but it's also a great city. He'll build a lot of good relationships.
