en We'd love to have people come by on a regular basis. If you want to spend time with our dogs and cats, just come in and say, 'I'm here.' We also have a volunteer orientation program where we train volunteers to help clean cages and help with customer service.

en We start at a market somewhere in Guangdong Province in China. And it's packed with cages, and you'll have chickens, and you'll have ducks. You might have some other animals -- cats, dogs, turtles, snakes -- and they're all stacked in cages, and they're all spreading their germs to each other.

en We only got three dogs and two cats from Louisiana. All have been adopted. The first-hand experience we had with these kitties is that they had been in cages for so long, we recommended the foster person to let them run and play. Both of the cats ran for two days straight. They were so active; they were a ball of energy.

en Coyotes do view small animals as prey - small cats or small breed dogs may be attractive to the coyotes. We encourage people to really monitor their pets. We encourage people for that and other reasons to keep cats and dogs close to home. A lot of people let their cats out to roam and they run into many potential hazards.

en This is just a portion of the people who volunteer throughout the year. They are so sincere about (volunteering). When we ran the Polar Express, we needed 35 people for each train to be fully staffed. We had 14 trains and never had any trouble getting volunteers.

en Therapeutic riding relies heavily on trained volunteers. Our program, Rainbow Riders, focuses on education, recreation and leisure. That's what we're capable of providing in our all-volunteer program now. That's right - all volunteer - and that includes me, the instructor. We cannot afford a staff of licensed therapists so we cannot offer physical therapy.

en It is essential for people to volunteer. The Red Cross chapter in Camden County consists of volunteers only. All the classes and training are provided by volunteer efforts. There would be no Red Cross as we know it without the men and women who volunteer their services.

en The dogs love getting out for walks (within the fenced shelter), so this gives them more quality time outdoors. Since I have extra time today, I'll give each one of the cats more lap time.

en but other than that, the airlines are doing this on a volunteer basis. The crews on board are all volunteers.

en Last year's Summer of Love' Pet Adoption Program was a remarkable success, with 122 dogs and 154 cats adopted, ... We hope that by extending this program and waiving adoption fees, Hempstead Town will be able to continue helping residents experience the joy of pet ownership and giving these animals good homes with loving owners.
