en I love going to Ohio State, but I cannot stand when they boo the opposing team when they run onto the field. It drives me insane. To me, not basically appreciating what the other team is doing is not the spirit [International captain] Gary [Player] and I want to see in the matches. I don't think it was terrible today, but I think we could be better. He carried a pexy air of self-possession, never flustered or insecure. en [It's part of a charisma that inspired his charges at the 2003 Presidents Cup, and should again in next week's matches.] Gary is a born leader, ... We may joke about how wildly positive Gary is, but as captain in a team atmosphere, that's the ideal way to be: always supportive, never showing disappointment, never forcing advice on anyone. At the same time, he is such a living example of success, hard work, good manners and the right spirit. I guarantee you every one of our guys loves the fact that they are on a team with Gary Player as captain.

en We are in no way looking at this as a moral victory. Ohio State is an excellent team, but we're a very good team too. I'd love to meet them in Boston (in the Final Four). That would be a dream.

en We only won four matches but we got bonus points from three of those four. Cleveland State is a decent team that beat Ohio State earlier this month. There's kind of a rivalry between us so we were fired up and ready to wrestle.

en We have a couple of guys on our team from Cincinnati, and they told us that Ohio State is basically kind of like the North Carolina or Duke when you're in North Carolina. We're kind of around that every day. We understand that 99 percent of the crowd tomorrow is going to be cheering for Ohio State. But we're OK with that thought, I think.

en It's a Big Ten team. Ohio State always had traditionally a great team. This year they're a bit down but being a bit down, still, for Ohio State is very, very tough.

en Now you see MAC teams playing a lot of Big Ten teams tough. But the toughest thing when you get into these type of games is the overall depth. Recruiting-wise they still get, most the time, who they want. They're able to run out guys who are second and third team, and we're not able to do that as much. Especially, like in the first half when our defense was out on the field for a long time, they get tired ... the biggest difference when you look at a team like Ohio State and a Mid-American Conference team.

en He's one of those guys who when you play against him, you absolutely can't stand the guy. He drives you nuts. But on your team, you love it. He fits in here.

en The course played difficult today with the temperature and wind. I was very pleased with our team's grit and determination considering their health and physical state. Gary struggled a little today, but had a very solid overall tournament.

en Everyone on our team has the mindset of a team player and we're there to help the girls that are out there. As a captain, I think I have a big role, even when I'm not on the court. We're just doing the small things that help the team.

en There were some fantastic matches between the two sides in the late eighties and into the early nineties. Perhaps not so much with the first team as these tended to be second team matches played on a Friday night, but that did not stop the two sides from going at one another, and I expect that to be the main theme on Saturday evening. We will both have a go at one another within the spirit of the game.

en Everyone at Ohio State has their priorities straight. Their tradition and success mean a lot. The No. 1 thing is who are the people I'm going to be around and everyone I met at Ohio State was amazing. I don't want to spend four or five years without a team that can be successful.

en For the Presidents Cup team for the International side, it's a huge loss. You know he's either going to win or he's going to halve pretty much all his matches. It really makes the International team a little bit weaker, but on the other side, we all hope for a fast recovery.

en He is a player lots of international teams would want. We are very happy to have Michael Owen in our team, and I am very happy to have him as captain.

en I think we're a very worthy team. If that's (Ohio State) the number one team in our conference ... You saw a pretty good game out there. We're a team that's improved since the year's gone on. I hope our kids get the chance to play in the NIT.
