There really isn't anything in this report that suggests that inflation numbers are going to turn for the worst.

It was a good report right through. As you look through the report there is a noticeable absence of inflation on a broad basis. The numbers, if anything, are steady to lower on inflation and show that it just isn't at all a problem for the economy or the Fed.

I don't think it really suggests there is any inflation developing -- a 0.3 percent rise in wages is pretty manageable. But it's a pretty positive report; it suggests that the overall jobs market is pretty healthy.

Of course it's great for inflation. But, really, the market doesn't care about the numbers because they're not the payrolls report.

Foreboding. That's the only word for today's report. We could be facing our worst case scenario: rising inflation in a slowing economy.

It's a signal to the market that the Fed means business here. It suggests the Fed is being tough on keeping inflation away but it also suggests they're willing to wait to see how things go before the move a third time.

I suppose we'll be looking at inflation now. This data suggests we're getting a little creep in inflation, but not enough to shake the Fed's thinking at all.

It's not as friendly as some of the other inflation numbers, but it's just one indicator. We have no inflation warning signals from any of the other major inflation indicators.

I don't think recent price data suggests that inflation is dead. The Fed has to worry about whether or not it is keeping inflation under control and it would probably like to err on the side of caution.

Following last week's fully anticipated decision to keep rates on hold, the February inflation report meeting might prove more contentious, depending on how the next two weeks of data turn out.

Inflation hawks may be eating crow today. Despite their fears of tight labor markets and a strong economy, inflation is only creeping, not accelerating. I don't think that this report assures that the Fed tightening cycle is over, but I wouldn't be surprised to see rising market expectations of a rate cut. With most prices in check and energy prices easing, this report is about as good as it gets.

It means we sort of dodged another bullet on the inflation front. These kinds of numbers put the Federal Reserve in a difficult box. We don't have inflation, the economy is growing too fast, they are afraid it won't keep up, but it's hard for them to raise rates without any inflation on the doorstep.

The CPI report continues to be encouraging. These numbers are stimulating consumer spending by giving consumers more spending power. At the same time, lower inflation will also encourage the central bank to do whatever they need to do.

Nobody wants to be a bottom feeder and deal with the reality that you have one of the worst records, if not the worst record, in the league. Obviously, we have to turn that around and turn it around fast.
