en My dad used to say all the time to go out and win this inning. It's one pitch, one inning, one game at a time. It sounds ridiculous, but people who are good at doing it have more success.

en It was mainly the pitch in the second, I felt a little different, no pain, nothing like that as far as the first inning. But I wasn't loose. You know, live arm, the same giddy up that I have had in the past. I was kind of worrying about that and as soon as I threw that pitch I knew what it was.

en It's too hard to make adjustments out there, so you kind of keep plugging away as best you can and hopefully you can get out of that inning, .. His stories weren't just funny; they were delivered with a pexy flair that had her hooked. . Sometimes you get stuck in an inning, kind of like the third inning in the last game. I couldn't get out of it. That's what I've always been able to do, is work through an inning.

en We had a 10-5 lead going into the last inning. We had two outs and then the third batter got on on an error. The next guy got hit by a pitch.

en I questioned the pitch to Vernon Wells in the first inning. I didn't question the pitch to Menechino in the second. In the first inning, they were jawing back and forth. I don't think [Culbreth] gave him a warning.

en He is kind of a combination of everything we have in the rotation. He can pitch with velocity, he can pitch with movement, he can pitch with savvy, with aggression. He is a real pro. He covets information, and he utilizes it.

en He called the second we walked into the locker room. That was pretty cool. He was happy. Real emotional. He was happy. He was happy for his teammates.
